St Clare's Oxford:
Situated in the heart of Oxford (less than an hour west of London), St. Clare's provides short study summer English courses for international students from ages 10+. Our Junior course is for students ages 10-15, our Teenagers course is for students ages 15-17, and our International Baccalaureate (IB) Preparation course is for students ages 15+. Our summer courses are a fun way for young students to learn English, and take place on their own secure campuses. This is a truly international experience which encourages young people to learn to live, play and study together. Courses feature a stimulating educational experience which brings improved grades at school as well as an unforgettable programme of activities, sports and excursions. Members of our enthusiastic activities team are always on duty to encourage your child to make the most of the busy programme.
Summer English Courses for Kids & Teens:
Summer Courses for Juniors (ages 10-15)
- Duration: 3 or 6 weeks
The St. Clare’s summer course for juniors is located in a pleasant residential part of Oxford. The campus has three large residences with separate areas for boys and girls excellent teaching rooms and facilities, a modern dining room, common rooms, assembly hall, and attractive playing fields with outdoor heated swimming pool.
The excellent staff-student ratio (1:8) is one of the main attractions for parents. Course features include:
- English Language lessons: 18 per week
- Class size: 15 maximum
- Level: from Elementary to Advanced
- Mornings: (4 days per week) Integrated Language Skills
- Afternoons: (2 days per week) Project work classes
Summer Courses for Teens (ages 15-17)
- Duration: 2-4+ weeks
- 'Summer English' or 'Intensive & Examination English' options
The Summer English Programme is our most popular course for teenagers. It combines integrated English Language skills with Active Language Projects and a wide range of activities and excursions.
The Intensive and Examination English Course combines integrated English Language skills, learner training, academic study skills and examination practice with a range of activities and excursions.
Summer IB Introduction Course (ages 15+)
Duration: 3 weeks
Our popular, fully residential course in a long established IB World School enable students to develop new skills, build on strengths and address any weaknesses, thus maximising performance in subsequent courses and examinations.
Subject classes take place each weekday providing a total of 24 hours over the week. For three weeks students will follow an IB Diploma timetable. Each week will have a different subject emphasis:
- Week 1: Language and Literature
- Week 2: Science and Arts
- Week 3: Mathematics and Humanities
