Right of Admission:
The Catholic schools of the Diocese of Fresno reserve the right to admit, re-admit, or deny admission to any student. All new students will be on probation for their first year of school. Catholic School transfer students have priority on our waiting list.
Students who are transferring from another school are required to submit a letter of recommendation from the principal and/or present or most recent past teacher, test scores and a copy of the most recent report card prior to admission in addition to testing at St. Francis Parish School.
School History:
St. Francis Parish School was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1910 and located in the heart of downtown Bakersfield on Truxtun Avenue between H and Eye Streets. Today, the school, located at the corner of Palm and Pine Streets since 1951, is a remodeled, state-of-the-art facility with a student body of more than 500, many of them third generation St. Francis students.
A lot has changed in nearly a hundred years, but St. Francis Parish School's tradition of excellence in Catholic education and its mission of fulfilling the mission of Jesus Christ through faith, family and friends remains unchanged.
