Beginner Beethovens (Piano Lessons for ages 6-9):
This class is designed to keep our first-time piano students engaged through a variety of activities. Each session is broken up into short activities that keep the young musicians interested while learning. By the end of the session, students will be able to play short songs and read rhythms and simple melodies. Students will all learn the same three songs to be performed on the last day of class.
Early Elementary Ellingtons (Piano Lessons for ages 7-11):
In this course, students continue building their foundation of skills to carry them through the beginning stages of piano. Students will reinforce their theory knowledge, develop their ability to read music, and they'll start learning scales and chords. Students become much more self-sufficient by the end of this course, and they will each learn a unique solo piece to be performed at the end of the session. This class continues in the spring.
Music Theory & Scales Lab (all ages):
This class is ideal for students needing extra time and support in learning scales, chords and music theory. Students will receive instruction according to their level. Topics include technique, fingerings, 5-finger scales, one-octave and multiple-octave scales, chord practice, inversions, arpeggios and more. This class is designed for students at an early intermediate level or higher.
Pop/Rock Band Lessons (ages 10-15):
Students will meet for three hours a week for Coast Music faculty-directed sectional and full band rehearsals. On the final day of class students will perform songs for family, friends and fans!
Pop/Rock Band Lessons (ages 14-18):

Kindermusik (music for toddlers):
For your toddler, every day brings new discoveries and opportunities to explore the world around him. Despite your toddler’s seeming independence, he still longs for the safety and security of parental closeness. During this time, your toddler still relishes the comfort of the familiar while also seeking the challenge of something new. Kindermusik "Our Time" encourages her to be creative, to initiate her own ideas and to respond in her own ways, while your active participation gives her the security she needs. As you play instruments, sing, move, and explore, you’ll uncover an engaging musical world while building your child’s confidence, self-control and communications skills. What you’ll experience in class: Instrument exploration and ensemble skill development. Your child will explore the physical characteristics and sounds of age-appropriate instruments which will eventually lead her to discover her potential for beat, rhythm, and melodic ensemble playing.
