Founded in 1998, CCM originally operated under the name "Pasadena International Music Academy." In 2007, PIMA became CCM under the supervision of Grammy Award-winning recording engineer Reggie Dozier and legendary trombonist Wayne Henderson, founder of the Jazz Crusaders.

CCM is known for its nurturing environment. Courses are taught by a distinguished faculty of highly-acclaimed music industry professionals who will help you develop discipline, technical skills, theoretical knowledge, versatility, and a confident attitude. Our goal is to produce qualified musicians by recognizing new trends in music and including fresh material. California College of Music is located in a newly renovated 5,650 square foot conservatory style facility at 42 South Catalina Avenue, in the heart of Pasadena, California, near the corner of Lake Avenue and Colorado Boulevard. Pasadena is just minutes from the music industry's center in Hollywood and Burbank. We are conveniently situated near the 210, 134, and 110 freeways, as well as the Gold Line Metro Rail, with access to all major destinations in Los Angeles.

We are located in the heart of Pasadena, one of the oldest cities in the Los Angeles area, 10 minutes from downtown and 15 minutes from Hollywood. Pasadena's historic and madern architecture, theaters, malls, clubs and parks provide a perfect balance between an active lifestyle and inspirational places of seclusion.

If you are coming from the SOUTH: Take the 110 FWY NORTH. The freeway ends, and places you on Arroyo Parkway going NORTH. Turn RIGHT on Del Mar. After one mile, turn LEFT on Lake Ave. After one-third of a mile, turn RIGHT on Green St . The second street is Catalina Ave ; turn LEFT and CCM is located on your right hand side.

If you are coming from the WEST: Take the 134 FWY EAST, and once in Pasadena merge onto the 210 FWY EAST. Exit Lake Ave , and turn RIGHT onto Lake Ave. At Colorado Blvd , turn LEFT. The second street is Catalina Ave ; turn RIGHT and CCM is located on your left hand side.

If you are coming from the EAST: Take the 210 FWY WEST. Exit Hill Ave , and turn LEFT onto Hill Ave. At Colorado Blvd , turn RIGHT. At Catalina Ave ; turn LEFT, and CCM is located on your left hand side.


Public transportation directions:
If you are coming from the METRO GOLD LINE: Exit at the Lake Station . Walk SOUTH on Lake three blocks to Colorado Blvd and turn LEFT. Walk two blocks EAST to Catalina Ave and turn RIGHT. CCM is located one-half block down on your left hand side.

Conveniently located at the corner of Market and Powell in downtown San Francisco, The College of Extended Learning at San Francisco State University provides a variety of music business and recording industry classes which are open to everyone. You can select any class that interests you, or follow our Music/Recording Industry academic certificate program. Our downtown campus is directly on the Powell Street BART and Muni lines, and close to affordable parking.

Designed for students who want to gain a solid foundation in the music business and/or recording industry, this program offers a comprehensive education in all aspects of the music business. Students choose an emphasis on either the recording arts/technology or the music business, which enables them to acquire real marketable skills to compete successfully in a fiercely intense environment.

All certificate students are required to complete a professional internship as well as a portfolio of projects such as audio engineering demos or music business and marketing plans. In addition, students can select from a number of electives and seminars for the most comprehensive music industry education in the San Francisco Bay Area. Coursework in the program may be applied toward the certificate, or individual classes may be taken to learn or update skills.
- Music/Recording Industry (MRI) academic certificate program: Choose an emphasis in either the recording arts/technology or the music business. All students must complete a professional internship.

The program can be completed in as few as two semesters; however, most students take four semesters, or two years. Evening classes are also available.

Southwest Conservatory of Music, located in Fountain Valley, Orange County, California, is a music school offering professional music instruction to students as young as 18 months old, up through high school level and adults. We offer group lessons and private lessons for and have music students at all ages and levels. Students participate in music recitals, evaluations and competitions when they are ready to do so. Many of our students participate in the Certificate of Merit music evaluation program, which is organized by the Music Teachers' Association of California. This is a comprehensive music exam which evaluates the students in 5 areas of music study, including performance, technique, music theory, ear training and sight reading.
