The Arabic and North African Studies program at Al Akhawayn University in Morocco provides language opportunities to students from all over the world. Though most of our students are from American institutions of higher learning, over the last 9 years, over 434 students from 22 different countries have come to the Middle Atlas Mountains in Ifrane, Morocco, to develop their language skills, learn about North Africa, and experience various aspects of Moroccan culture through activities, clubs and field trips to areas such as the Sahara desert, the historical medina of Fez and the dazzling city of Marrakech.

Our Mission:

Photo of Arabic Language School in Fez, MoroccoThe mission of the Office of International Programs (OIP) is to expand international awareness, promote productive intercultural interaction, and foster tolerance and sensitivity in AUI students, faculty and administration.

Role at AUI:
The OIP brings a global perspective to the AUI curriculum by organizing and overseeing all aspects of international study for both incoming scholars and AUI students studying outside of Morocco. Programs within the OIP provide the environment necessary for multicultural enhancement at academic and social levels.

The Office of International Programs offers:
- International student admissions to programs rich in Moroccan, African and global content
- Advise and support for international students, faculty, and guests
- Study abroad and exchange Programs
- Hosting international visitors
- Resource development for the AUI community
- Curriculum collaboration to ensure an international perspective

Arabic Language and North African Studies.

Activities:

Participants have unlimited internet access in rooms and computer labs, access to the library, the Student Health Center, and sports facilities including the swimming pool. Sporting equipment is available in the Student Activities Office and participants can attend student concerts (local popular groups) and parties.

Arabic language for foreign students is an Arabic language school in Marrakech, Morocco, North Africa. We offer short or long term language courses and total cultural immersion. Students can choose between Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) or Colloquial Moroccan Arabic (CMA) with courses available year-round.
