Dar Loughat is a professional language center in Morocco providing intensive courses in all levels of Modern Standard Arabic and Colloquial Moroccan Arabic throughout the year. Founded in 2004 in the heart of the city of Tetouan in northern Morocco, Dar Loughat has rapidly established a strong and well-respected reputation as a cross-cultural center in the Arab world.
The city of Tetouan, declared a World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO, stands out for its strategic location, as it is less than sixty kilometers from Algeciras in Spain to the north and sixty kilometers east of Tangier. The small size of the city allows students to easily become integrated and immersed into the local culture, which is famous for its legendary generosity and tolerance.
While studying Arabic in Tetouan, students can enjoy the city’s excellent beaches, which are undoubtedly among the most beautiful in the entire Mediterranean area, its evergreen Rif Mountains which spread eastwards along a distance of more than 500 kilometres and its five-century-old Medina.
The school is fully equipped with the latest audio-visual material, modern language labs, wireless internet connection and a small library that contains a considerable number of books on a variety of topics. The flexibility of the starting dates and the program length allows students to attend Arabic classes anytime throughout the year, from just one week to a complete academic year.

Fall 2006 : Weekend hicking to Cabo Negro. On the backgroud, the coastal town of Martil, 10 kilometers from Tetouan.
Summer 2008 : Dar Loughat students after a Hennah workshop organized by the school.
Spring 2008 : Students eating grilled sardines at M'diq's fishing port, 15 kilometers from Tetouan.
Fall 2008 : Students during a guided visit to the Medina -historic town- of Tetouan.

Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane

AUI is located in Ifrane, Morocco in the Middle Atlas Mountains, at an altitude of 1,600m. Ifrane is just 60 kms from Meknes, 80 kms from Moulay Idriss Zerhoun and the Roman ruins of Volubilis, 65 kms from Fez, and 200 kms from Rabat. Winters in Ifrane can be cold with significant snowfall, and summers are pleasant. The Arabic language component is an intensive program. A diligent student, willing to devote himself to preparing and attending the full morning of classes, and then completing homework assignments, can realistically hope to achieve one full academic year of Arabic language by successfully completing the summer program. Students experience learning Arabic not only in class and through homework, but also through interaction with students, instructors and staff at the university as well as others outside the university in the community of Ifrane.
