Is this for my student?

Photo of German Classes in Portland area, ORMy student is a beginner/we don't speak German: Welcome! Many of our students are like yours. Younger students (pre-readers) may all do well in a mixed-level class, if they're open to playing with words. With older students, it's more critical to focus on level first, age second.

My student knows a lot of German/we speak German at home: Welcome! Many of our students are like yours. As your student grows, it's usually more important to focus on reading and writing skills, grammar, and eventually text analysis and putting together essays and oral presentations. We see ourselves as part of your support system, providing the academic German that it can be hard to provide at home.

My student knows some German: Welcome! Many of our students are like yours. Our flexible class placements work in their favor. There's a lot of repetition built into the curriculum, so whether the material is familiar or new, they will have plenty of chance to pick it up.

We welcome students of any any race, color, creed, national and ethnic origin, and sexual orientation.

Enrollment opens in the spring (typically late April) for fall classes. Early inquiries welcome, since that helps us to build classes based on your students' needs.
