French Preschool & Kindergarten (ages 3 -6):
French School Petit Peton (Ecole Maternelle Petit Peton) was founded by Delphine Pilarski, a French Citizen, in 2010. Our curriculum is provided by the French Ministry of National Education and is designed to ensure that children learn French language arts.

PreK - Petite Section - ages 3 - 4 years:
Students learn to live in a classroom building relationships with their classmates and developing community-based routines. The French curriculum offers play time and structured activities for discovering reading and writing skills: the alphabetic skills including letter identification and calligraphy are introduced.

PreK-Mornings - ages 3 - 4 years: 
- 4, 3 & 2 day options
Our PreK morning classes are the perfect place with a real curriculum for preschoolers before Kindergarten. Classes are offered Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 9:15 am – 12:30 pm. Ther are no classes on Wednesdays. Lunch is served from 11:50-12:20pm (the children bring lunch from home). Pick-up is from 12:20-12:30 pm.

Moyenne Section - ages 4 - 5 years:
The curriculum explores for more formal and structured activities. The acquisition of the fundamentals are essential: letters & numbers, math, problem solving, creative thinking. During the school year, letter and word recognition are a daily routine. The French alphabetic knowledge is known perfectly at the end of the school year.

Kindergarten - Grande Section - ages 5-6 years:
The third year of the Maternelle prepare your child for 1st Grade (French CP). All aspects of learning and development like language structure (syllable, French pronunciation), time, space concepts, cursive writing are reinforced. The program is specifically focused on developing and reinforcing their cognitive skills and bilingual vocabulary. The French Petit Peton curriculum includes an introduction to Musical Theory and piano.

After-School Program - ages 5-6 years:
- 3, 2 & 1 day options
Our after-school program is for children K thru 1st Grade with previous French experience preferred. We offer the CNED program and tools. Class times are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday  3:30 pm – 5:00 pm.

Private Tutoring for Elementary School students:
- Levels: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced
Petit Peton offers private and semi-private lessons for young graders. Whether your child desires to start learning French, or needs to improve her/his verbal and/or writing skills, or needs extra assistance to do French Homework, we can help you. Learning materials are available on site or you can bring your own material if you prefer.

Art Program - all students:
- Painting, Drawing, Printmaking & Collage 
During class, we introduce the children to Art History to familiarize them with artists, such as Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, Gustave Klimt, Juan Miro and Claude Viallat. Each Art class starts with a French story time with books that tie into the art activity. The goal of the class is to have fun , express its own creativity and imaginary and expose to The Artist’s Tools.

Situated in Alameda CA, Bay Language Academy provides beginner to advanced level classes and after school programs to children and adults in a variety of languages. We currently offer Spanish, Mandarin, French, Japanese, Italian, Korean, English, German and Arabic.

Focusing on the specific needs of students and their parents, the classes are offered once, twice or three times weekly after school in 75 to 150-minute sessions. Parents are informed after each class of what was covered and what is expected from the young students for the next session.

The overall method is based on a modular teaching with an approach based on task, where a balance between practice and theory is achieved. The aim is to develop effective communication skills through the elementary development of the four basic language known skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing.
