The Commercial Music Lab was founded in 2011 by Jenny Amaya, a musician, composer, and commercial music professor. Jenny has been teaching music software for most of her life, beginning with onstage clinics at the NAMM Show for Passport Designs, the makers of Encore, in 1995. Her love of notation and music software led her to a position as an ambassador for Sibelius, USA in 2001. Over the years, Jenny has worked countless trade shows and conventions for Sibelius, and she began teaching Sibelius-sponsored training clinics and in-services in 2007.
Since finishing her formal education in music, Jenny has completed audio training and expert-level Pro Tools certification at The Recording Arts Center in San Diego, CA. In 2009 Jenny joined the ranks of an elite group of Avid Certified Instructors, and now teaches certified curriculum at two of Avid’s Official Learning Partner locations in Southern California.

Indigital Institute of Recording Arts (IIRA) provides an 18-month certified Audio Engineering and Beat Production program that consists of over 70 lessons. Students can take the program in-full, or concentrate on one of the 6-month individual certifications - Recording Engineering, Mixing, or Beat Production.Based in Santa Cruz CA, approximately 30 miles south of San Jose and 75 miles south of San Francisco, IIRA is designed to give students the essential knowledge for building a career in today's music industry. The Colburn School is a non-profit independent institution located in downtown Los Angeles, Southern California consisting of two divisions: the Colburn School of Performing Arts (CSPA) and the Conservatory of Music (CCM). The Conservatory of Music is a highly-selective college offering classical instrumental music training at the baccalaureate and post-baccalaureate levels. The Colburn School is a community-based school that provides music, dance and drama training from introductory to advanced levels to students from ages preschool through adult. The Conservatory of Music is predominantly college-age students.
