Shattuck-St. Mary's School:
Shattuck-St Mary's (SSM) is a co-educational Episcopal Church-affiliated boarding & day school offering grades 6-12 in Faribault MN, 50 miles south of Minneapolis. Founded in 1858, the same year that Minnesota became a state, Shattuck-St. Mary’s School has built its reputation for excellence on a foundation of history, tradition and exceptional academics. Our 439 students in grades 6-12 come from 34 states and 22 countries to pursue a rigorous college preparatory curriculum.

Advanced Placement Courses:
Advanced Placement courses in 12 subjects give students the opportunity to excel. Teachers take their academic responsibilities seriously and expect their students to do likewise. All students, regardless of their previous preparation or innate ability, are expected to put forth their best efforts.
Diploma:
To qualify for a Shattuck-St. Mary's School diploma, a student must successfully accumulate 64 credits in grades 9-12. In addition, a student must complete his or her senior year on the Shattuck-St. Mary's campus unless study off-campus or abroad has been arranged with the approval of the Academic Committee and the Head of School.
Students must earn, at a minimum:
- 12 credits in English
- 9 credits in Mathematics (including 3 credits each in Algebra I, Algebra II and Geometry)
- 9 credits in Science (including 3 credits in Biology and either 3 credits in Chemistry or 3 in Physics)
- 9 credits in History (3 credits each in World, Modern European and U.S. History)
- 9 credits in World Languages (these must be consecutive credits in the same language)
- 4 credits in Fine Arts
- 1 credit in Religion (Bible studies usually taken in the junior year)
Hockey Program:
In the past 20 years, Shattuck-St. Mary's School has been at the forefront of youth hockey. Our players go on to compete at the highest levels of collegiate and Junior League Hockey.
Led by Director of Hockey Tom Ward our program is based on the conviction that our players must be great students, great citizens and also great athletes. Four midget teams, two bantam teams and two girls’ teams make up our highly competitive program.
Figure Skating Program:
Shattuck-St. Mary’s synchronized figure skating program will feature the first residency team for middle and high school aged skaters in the world. Development of the elite level student-athlete is not new to Shattuck-St. Mary’s.
Soccer Program:
The SSM Soccer Academy is for highly competitive to elite-level soccer players. Boys and girls train and compete on a daily basis during the school year (September through May).
Players receive technical, tactical and physical training from a staff of professional coaches with both national and international experience. A competition program that integrates tournament play, friendly games and exhibitions throughout the nine-to-ten months is provided.
ESL Programs for International Students:
We also provide a range of English language programs for international students who want to learn English in a U.S. boarding school environment.
