Image of Pontifical University of Salamanca Pontifical University of Salamanca:
Salamanca is a beautiful city of 160,000 inhabitants in western Spain, 200 kilometres from Madrid. It is the capital of the province of Salamanca, which belongs to the autonomous region of Castile-Leon, where the standard accent of Spanish is spoken, therefore it is the perfect place to study Spanish. Salamanca unites the advantages of a big city with the atmosphere of a small town: orientation is easy and you will feel at home quickly.
The nightlife is very lively, as there are approximately 40000 students living in Salamanca. In 2002, the city was declared a UNESCO World Heritage City for its architectural and artistic wealth. Salamanca is untouched in its architectural purity. In the central areas of the city all recent buildings are constructed in Salamanca's best tradition. Every year thousands of foreign students come to learn Spanish in Salamanca and to soak up its rich heritage.

Location and Facilities:

Photo of Summer Spanish Immersion Programs in Spain The nightlife is very lively, as there are approximately 25.000 students living in Salamanca. In 2002, the city was declared a UNESCO World Heritage City for its architectural and artistic wealth. Its streets are full of culture carved in stone, like the House of the Shells (la Casa de las Conchas), the Cathedrals or the Main Square (la Plaza Mayor), and of living knowledge. Furthermore, this city has been converted into a world icon of the Spanish teaching, and for this reason every year thousands of foreign students approach the language of Cervantes in the cobbled streets of Salamanca.

Our classrooms and facilities reflect our philosophy of teaching: pleasant and bright setting for small groups (12 students maximum), with multimedia equipment, a computer lab with connection to the internet, a modern language laboratory and a room for showing films and documentaries. The School provides free internet access to its students.
