Ali Baba International Center, Amman:
Ali Baba International Center is an Arabic language school located in the heart of Amman; the beautiful capital of Jordan. It has been established in recent years to meet the demands of the worldwide renewed call to learn Arabic, which has resulted from the increased global importance of Arabic in the social and professional spheres.
Ali Baba International Center offers Modern Standard Arabic courses and Colloquial Jordanian Arabic courses throughout the year. The courses cover different levels; entry level, beginners-level, intermediate-level, and advanced courses.
The courses are based on Al-Kitaab": the most widely used book for Modern Standard Arabic, in addition to other easier texts published in the Arab world. Jordanian colloquial Arabic, and some aspects of Jordanian culture are integrated in each course.
Regular Programs:
Regular programs are offered throughout the year. Students can take as many hours as they wish and for the duration they need.
Intensive Summer Programs:
Four 1-month sessions are offered every year: in May, in June, in July and in August. Three levels are offered in each session.
Special Programs:
A special program is a package consisting of the followings: a specialized course in Arabic or a middle eastern or Islamic field; accommodation, and tours around Jordan if desired. The specialized courses are tailored to meet the needs of individuals or groups working in fields like diplomacy, business, culture and others, and therefore may vary in their contents, durations, time of offering, and cost.
Our programs are open for individuals and groups from all over the world: from different ages, different professions and different backgrounds. Students, teachers, professors, professionals, special interest groups, educational tourism seekers, adults and teenagers all may register with us. In fact, a diversity in the backgrounds and interests of the participants is one of the keys to the programs' success. For example, participants may be classified into different interesting categories grouped as follows:
- Students pursuing degrees in Middle Eastern studies, Arabic language, linguistics, or Islamic studies are usually concerned with earning course credits, preparing for language examinations or becoming Arabic language teachers. This category of people are advised to enroll in the Regular Programs.
- Another group of participants need to know Arabic to some degree in their professions. This class of people usually seek private or specialized Arabic courses to suit their professional needs. This category of people should enquire about our Special Programs.
- Other people may participate simply because they want to learn a bit of the language but much of the culture where the language is spoken. They seem to look for "educational tourism" in which tourism and culture-learning are their double target. This category of people are advised to enroll in the Summer Programs.
