The course develops all your practical communication skills, with special emphasis on speaking, pronunciation and listening. By learning and practising new language in imaginative and structured lessons, you achieve greater fluency in everyday English. This includes grammar, vocabulary, colloquial English and idioms.

Social English:
Add Social English to learn language useful for everyday social, study or work life - including discussions, conversations, presenting information and telephoning.

Extra Conversation:
Add Extra Conversation and develop your speaking skills in a friendly, informal atmosphere. You will discuss interesting topics with time for correction and feedback.

Choose a small group course to learn intensively and focus more on your own needs - intensive communication courses in general, business and legal English.

Club 8 Intensive English:
On this course you will focus on achieving confident and effective spoken English for your everyday social, study or work needs. You will develop the communication skills needed in today's international environment. The course also develops your everyday English, pronunciation and grammar, together with reading and writing skills for work, travel and social situations. You can work even more intensively by choosing extra One-to-One lessons, or if you want a course that includes extra focus on work-related topics, the Club 8 Business English course, or the Club 8 Legal English course.

Club 8 Business English:
This course complements the Club 8 Intensive English course and is designed for business and professional people. The confidence-building business element of the course focuses on language skills for the business world, including telephoning, negotiating, attending meetings, giving presentations and writing reports and email. We cover business vocabulary for areas such as marketing, finance management and e-commerce.

Club 8 International Business Communication:
As for Club 8 Business English, this course focuses on language skills for the business world but also offers a concentrated full time programme.

Club 8 Legal English:
This course complements the Club 8 Intensive English course and is designed for law students and recently qualified lawyers. The Legal English element of the course focuses on the language skills needed for communication in a legal setting. We also aim to expand your legal vocabulary for both criminal and civil law.

Club 8 Combination Course:
By adding One-to-One tuition to the Club 8 Intensive course you can concentrate on a particular skill, area of language, or work project. Choose from 2 to 10 individual lessons per week to optimise your learning.

English for Special Purposes:
Customised courses for the oil and gas industry and the finance, banking and legal sectors.

Holiday Courses for Families:
Our study holiday for families grows more popular every year. A relaxing way for all the family to combine an enjoyable English course with a holiday in London.

IELTS, TOEFL, Foundation and Pre-Masters:
We offer either IELTS or TOEFL preparation of 20 lessons per week. Our Intensive 25 lessons per week course combines IELTS or TOEFL preparation with our very popular Academic English module. The examinations take place in special examination centres in the London area.

Academic English:
This enables you to gain the language skills needed for academic study, including summarising lectures, note-taking skills, debating techniques, carrying out research and presenting data.

IELTS Preparation:
The IELTS module provides thorough preparation for the examination: essay writing, fluent and accurate speaking, describing and interpreting graphs and charts, and practice in the receptive skills of reading and listening. You can take the examination in the week following the end of your course. You must register for the examination in the school reception office on the first day of your course.

TOEFL Preparation:
A high score in the TOEFL examination is essential for entry to an American university. You learn specific strategies for the American examination with an emphasis on enriching vocabulary and listening skills. During the course you will have practice examinations with feedback from your teacher. Lessons give background information on American culture and the differences between British and American English are explored. We help you to register for the TOEFL Examination on the first day of the course, but places are subject to availability and we advise earlier booking.
