Gloscat - Glos College of Arts & Technology:
Gloscat, one of the largest further education colleges in the UK, offers a wide range of education and training programmes including A Levels and GCSEs, vocational qualifications, work-based learning, basic skills courses, Higher Education, short courses for business, part-time day and evening courses and English for overseas students.

Gloscat offers the following English courses: General English, Exam, Business English, University Foundation Course, Summer School (Adults - July/August, Juniors - July only), Teacher Training.

General English
On your first day with us we check your level of English with a test and an interview with one of our lecturers. This will help us find the appropriate group (average group size 10/11, normal maximum 20) for your language level.

The work you cover will include:
* Grammar
* Vocabulary Building
* Pronunciation
* Social English
* Listening & Speaking
* Reading & Writing
There will also be regular homework, progress tests and tutorial support.

Business English
On the Business English course, you could expect to use all the basic skills such as reading, writing, listening and speaking within the classroom. It is aimed at students with a good foundation in the English language and most students are of Intermediate level or above. Some students complete one term of General English before transferring to the Business English course. The course books are up-to-date and relevant to today's business professionals and are supplemented with video clips, newspaper articles and any other materials available to the teacher.

You choose (with your lecturer's help) from a stimulating choice of extra language activities including Grammar, Vocabulary Building, Exam Practice (PET, FCE, CAE, CPE, IELTS), Conversation Practice, Pronunciation among many others. You can also opt to do special interest classes such as Current Affairs, Business Communication or History of Britain.
