Apple Training Centers:
Apple training centers have been carefully selected and have met Apple’s highest standards in all areas including: facility, instructors, course delivery and infrastructure. The goal of the Program is to offer Apple customers the highest-quality training experience; from the beginner up to the most seasoned Professional.

Avid Authorized Training Partners:
Avid’s Authorized Training Partner program assures students that course curricula are carefully developed by a team of highly experienced educational specialists. Education Centers use Avid certified teaching staff and authorized courseware

Adobe Authorized Training Center:
An Adobe Authorized Training Center is a training facility that offers instructor-led courses and training on Adobe products. To become an AATC, a training center must manage their own training facility, employ Adobe Certified Instructors (ACIs), and meet additional requirements.

Autodesk Authorized Training Center:
Autodesk® Training Centers (ATC®) have met Autodesk's rigorous standards of excellence. Smoke classes taught at ATCs are based on certified curriculum developed by Autodesk in-house training experts and experienced educators. ATCs instructors must demonstrate thorough knowledge of Smoke by completing the Smoke Instructor training and certification program.

Assimilate Authorized Training Partner:
Assimilate® Training Partners have met Assimilate's highest standards to provide authorized training for their groundbreaking products SCRATCH® and SCRATCH LAB®.

Our instructors are working editors, web designers, sound engineers and designers, cinematographers, prod, colorists, motion graphics artists, as well as certified Avid, Apple, Autodesk, Assimilate and Adobe trainers. A maximum teacher to student ratio of 1:6* ensures individualized attention and allows students to work at their own pace.

You will work one-on-one with instructors every day. Even during the initial period of hands-on instruction, there is ample opportunity for one-on-one instruction and support.

Events Beyond The Classroom - Throughout the year, amazing events like American Cineam Editors EditFest NY are co-produced by Manhattan Edit Workshop, bringing the most sought-after editors straight from the cutting room to the audience.

Will I have my own computer?

Yes. Each student has his/her own workstation for the duration of the workshop.

Can you help me find work as an editor/assistant?

While Manhattan Edit Workshop is in no way a placement agency, we actively pursue relationships with the post-production community in order to develop employment opportunities for workshop participants (Manhattan Edit Workforce). More than half of past workshop participants have found work as assistant editors and/or editors, either at post-production facilities or as freelancers. Many of these opportunities were developed within our growing network or potential employers.

Do I need any prior editing or computer knowledge in order to take the course?

Our intro level courses as well as the Six Week Intensive, assume no prior knowledge of editing or software involved.  Previous experience is required for advanced courses. A basic working knowledge of the Macintosh Operation system will enhance your experience.  For those with no Mac experience, we recommend taking a basic introductory Macintosh computer class prior to your Manhattan Edit Workshop course.

Do you offer financial aid or scholarships?

As a small art school, one not associated with any universities or colleges, we are unable at this time to offer financial aid or scholarships for our courses.

We do offer a private student loan for courses totaling more than $2,500.  Students may take a combination of courses together or a single course that equals that amount. All students must fill out the appropriate loan application through Manhattan Edit Workshop and be approved by an outside organization.  All plans are designed around students on a case-by-case basis, but must be paid off within 6-12 months. 

Can I tour the facilities?

Prospective students are encouraged to visit out facilities Monday-Friday from 10am - 5pm to gain a sense of our program and space.

We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, AMEX, money order and personal checks and cold hard cash.

Can I work with my own material in your workshops?

We provide the certified Apple, Adobe, Autodesk, Assimilate and Avid course material for our one week, two-day, three-day and weekend courses. Six Week students may bring in their own material to edit during the final two weeks of the course for inclusion on their reels.
