IH Beijing:
Located in the Haidan District in north-west Beijing, International House (IH Beijing) provides a 4-week CELTA English teacher training Certificate course to students from around the globe. IH Beijing was established in 2011 by a team of people from IH Barcelona - one of the most prestigious language teaching and teacher training centres in Europe.
CELTA English Teacher Training Certificate:
Courses are full-time over four weeks and have a minimum of 120 contact hours. A further 80 hours outside of classtime tasks for your assignments and lesson planning.
Sessions are normally held between 9am and 5pm, including teaching practice. A typical day on the course looks something like this:
- 09.00 - 12.00 Input sessions
- 12.00 - 13.00 Feedback and lesson planning
- 13.00 - 14.00 Lunch break
- 14.00 - 16.30 Teaching practice
- 16.30 - 17.00 Feedback

- Developing teaching skills and professionalism

- Teaching practice
Hands-on Teaching Practice:
Teaching practice is an integral part of the course. This is organised in small groups of 5-6 trainees with volunteer students at two or three different levels.
Assessment:
Trainees are continuously assessed in all the syllabus areas, including written assignments, and with particular emphasis on their teaching ability.
Students receive the official Cambridge CELTA certificate about one month after the course has finished.
