CELTA Teacher Training Courses:
One of the leading qualifications in the English Language Teaching industry, the internationally-recognised CELTA is designed for native and non-native speakers of English with a high level of English proficiency, who have little or no experience of teaching.

It will prepare you to teach English to adults overseas and in Portugal. The CELTA course is also appropriate for those with some teaching experience, but no formal training, as well as for teachers from other fields who are interested in developing a career in English language teaching

Full-time Cambridge CELTA Course
Course Duration: 4 weeks / 120 hours face-to-face time (spent at the Centre) plus many hours of study time & homework.
Successful graduates will be prepared to work in a variety of ESOL teaching contexts around the world. Assessment is continuous and based on written assignments, the trainee’s teaching practice, and overall professional development. The course covers:

- The Learner, the teacher and the teaching/learning context
- Language Awareness
- Classroom management and teaching skills for teaching English to adults
- Planning for effective teaching of adult learners of English
- Resources and materials for teaching English to adults
- Professional development for teachers of English to adults

Teaching Practice:
Each student is required to complete 6 hours of teaching practice, teaching English to foreign students who are at different levels. These hours will be observed by qualified and experienced teachers that will be assessing you and giving you their feedback. You  will also spend time doing teaching observation and guided lesson planning.

Part-time / Blended CELTA Course
Course Duration: 12 weeks
This course combines face-to-face classes with online lessons. Because students must attend the Teacher Training Centre once a week for the teaching practice component, this course is best suited to students living in the Greater Lisbon area. This format is particularly suitable for those who have limited time, or enjoy working at a slower pace, but who also enjoy working online and studying via distance learning.

Delta Course Modules:

Delta - Diploma in English Language Teaching to Adults
The Delta Modules are intended to offer candidates who have substantial experience of teaching English to adult speakers of other languages the opportunity to:

• acquire new insights into this area and a deeper understanding of the principles and practice of ELT to adults;
• examine their current practices and beliefs;
• apply the results of their learning and reflection to their current professional lives and to circumstances beyond their present and previous teaching experience.


Portuguese Language Courses:
In addition to our teacher training courses, we offer intensive and super-intensive Portuguese language classes which can be taken before or after your CELTA course. We keep class sizes deliberately small in order to achieve the greatest progress in the Portuguese language.

Intensive Portuguese:
- 3 hours per day (groups with four or more students)
- 2 hours per day (groups with fewer than four students)

Super-intensive Portuguese:
- 5 hours per day (groups with four or more students)
- 4 hours per day (groups with fewer than four students)
