CELTA at The Institute of Modern Languages, Granada:
Located in Granada, a city in south-central Spain just 90 minutes north-east of Malaga, CELTA Granada is a dynamic teacher training centre that provides the CELTA Course (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) to students from all over the world who are interested in teaching English as a Second Language. The CELTA Certification is a 4-week intensive course which covers the essential principles of teaching English. It is aimed at candidates with little or no experience in teaching, and it introduces ideas and information which are essential in starting to teach the language.

Hands-On Teaching Practice:
There is a strong emphasis on putting into practice what is learnt on the course and candidates will have the opportunity to teach part of a class nearly everyday. We have a very ‘hands on’ approach and we really encourage candidates to apply what they have learnt at every stage.
Course Aims:
- To become skilled in a variety of practical techniques used in teaching English.
- To gain knowledge of the subject and to be aware of the important steps in teaching and learning effectively.
- To be able to demonstrate sound theoretical understanding and practical competence in a monolingual or multilingual teaching environment.
Assessment:
Candidates are assessed continuously throughout the course. Primarily, candidates are graded on their ability to plan, prepare and deliver lessons. Secondly, candidates are appraised on 4 written assignments related to classroom teaching which are internally assessed and externally moderated. There are no written exams.
Accreditation:
The CELTA is accredited at Level 5 of the Qualification and Credit Framework for England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and is also an international qualification, highly valued and renowned throughout the world.
