TEFL Certificate Course in Madrid, Spain

Canterbury Consulting Spain will be offering for the fourth consecutive year a special TEFL course in June, beginning on 30th May 2011. The course will be taught in Weeks 1 and 2 in our installations in Madrid and in Weeks 3 and 4 in our installations in the beautiful foothills of the “Picos de Europa” mountains in the province of León.
CANTERBURY INTERNATIONAL TEFL COURSE - June, 2011 Madrid/Leon
Our course will cover all the aspects of our regular international certification course, but will also include special instruction for teaching children and adolescents in summer and day camps and for teaching business professionals in 
a weekend retreat setting.
At the end of Week 1, Canterbury will be holding a Summer Job Placement Open House at our Madrid installations with our summer camp providers: Forenex, Ideotur, and Baker Street , among others, with which we place our TEFL graduates every year.
Students will be working during the summer in camps ranging from onsite summer camps throughout Spain and day camps in Madrid , to teaching regular classes to business professionals and individuals in Madrid . The average salary for onsite summer camp teaching is 1,100€ a month including room and board. Key periods are the month of July and the first two weeks of August.
Some of the additional topics to be covered during Weeks 3 and 4 are as follows:
• Age Group Characteristics, Behavior/Personality Types, Cultural Differences
• Designing Practice Activities (Multiple Sessions)
• First Day Activities (For Starting With New Groups At Camp)
• Lesson Planning & Classroom Interaction (Practice with Both Age Groups, 7-11 year olds and 12-16 year olds)
• Observation of Actual Classes
• Workshops Involving Teaching Children
• Instruction on How to Play Sports/Games Outside of the Classroom With English Components
• Swimming Pool Activities in English
• Instruction on How to Build Confidence with Public Speaking
• Keys to Making Weekend Business English Retreats Informative and Enjoyable
Upon completion of all regular coursework, students will have on-line access to Canterbury instructors during the month of July for any advice needed.
In addition, in future summers, graduates will be given the opportunity to be directly placed in summer programs throughout Spain and around the world through our worldwide placement program.
ITINERARY AND FEES:
--Canterbury International TEFL Certificate June 2011 course price is 1275 Euros.
--The cost of room, board and transportation to the León Installations for Weeks 3 and 4 (14 days) is 340 Euros.
--For Weeks 1 and 2, Canterbury helps to arrange lodging in Madrid .
The June course orientation will be on Friday, 27th May, 2011 at 10:30 am.

(Saturday) - Travel to León.
Week 3
