Australian Centre of Further Education, Melbourne:
Australian Centre of Further Education (ACFE), located in the city centre of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, is a private training education institution offering specialist nursing courses for overseas qualified nurses. Programs include the Initial Registration for Overseas Nurses (IRON). This is a short 3 month course comprising theoretical and clinical components to assist overseas nurses (e.g. from Philippines or Inidia etc) to obtain their registration in Australia as a Registered Nurse - Division 1.

Approval:

ACFE has been approved by the Nurses Board of Victoria to offer the Initial Registration For Overseas Nurses Program.

NMBA - Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia:
The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) is the new national board that replaces all the previous state based nursing boards such as NBV. The NMBA is now responsible for all Nurse Registration applications. Overseas nurses wishing to undertake our Initial Registration for Overseas Nurses Program will need to make an application to the NBMA for registration. Alternatively, overseas nurses who have already been issued with a NBV letter to undertake such a program and which has not expired may apply for our course.

ACFE is located at Level 5, 341 Queen St, central Melbourne Vic 3000. The facility is conveniently located to all major public transport services including trains (Melbourne Central and Flagstaff stations are within a short walking distance) trams and bus lines. The facility is located near important amenities; including places of worship, supermarkets, places to eat and affordable student accommodation.
