Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Diploma Courses:

National Diploma in Computing Level 5

Course Duration: 1 year. After successfully completing the Level 5 NDC, students can directly enrol in IT at Level 7.

This course provides a thorough grounding in both technical and organisational aspects of computing. The course structure and unit credits are such that students will graduate with specialisation in Computer Support.

Diploma in Computer Science and IT Level 7
Course Duration: 1 year.  A level 7 qualification with a total of 120 credits.

The programme covers skills such as designing, installing, testing, administrating Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN), Project Management, Multiuser operating system, Database, Web Design and Development.

This course will equip you to immediately enter into a productive role within an organisation or progress to further study in specialist areas. It provides in-depth training in research, design, installation, commissioning and testing computer networks and stand alone systems.

After you have completed this course you will be eligible to apply for a post study work visa in New Zealand: a 12 month work visa that lets you work in NZ for any employer in any occupation.

Manukau Institute of Technology offers 1500 full and part time certificate, diploma, degree and post graduate study programmes, and a whole lot more. Manukau City located in the Auckland region of the North Island, is New Zealand's third largest city, and with 150 different ethnic communities calling it home, is proudly multi-cultural. Manukau Institute of Technology's academic year is as follows: semester one runs February – June, semester two: July – November. Many programmes have intakes in both semesters. English language programmes are available from February to December. There are four intakes per year: February, April, July, and October. A 6-week summer school is run in December and January. Taylors College Auckland provides specialised university preparation programs in partnership with leading universities in New Zealand. With successful completion of the Taylors Auckland Foundation Year (TAFY), you will be guaranteed entry into the University of Auckland, AUT University and Massey University. In 2011, 94% of TAFY students were offered a tertiary place. Our university preparation courses are open to international students and also New Zealand students who don't meet the direct entry requirements for undergraduate degree programs.

There are three study options available for Taylors Auckland Foundation Year. If you have superior grades in English and relevant subjects and want to fast track your pathway to University, you can take the Intensive (Accelerated) Program. Intake is in April only and the course is 30 weeks.

If you have achieved at least average grades in English and relevant subjects, the Standard Program will be suitable for you. You can start your study in January (40 weeks), July (38 weeks) or August (35 weeks). Our Certificate in Pre-Foundation Studies has been designed to prepare you for academic study at foundation level.
