Located in the heart of vibrant downtown Edmonton, Cultural Connections Institute - The Learning Exchange (CCI-LEX) offers an exciting educational environment for adults (18 years and older) to learn English as a second or additional language (ESL). Our group of highly skilled, experienced, and motivated teachers offer unique, valuable and dynamic English language classes to temporary and permanent residents of Canada. Courses include General and Intensive ESL, Specialized English classes, Academic skills, and IELTS English exam preparation among others.

Beginner to Advanced Level English Language (ESL) Courses:

Classes for Permanent & Temporary Residents (Cultural Connections Institute)
CCI courses are taught by highly qualified ESL professionals who are caring, experienced instructors.  Our small classes offer you lots of opportunity for speaking and teacher support.  Our intensive ESL classes cover all essential skills of listening, speaking, reading, writing, rounded out with grammar and vocabulary.  The CCI program is a great choice for employers working with temporary foreign workers, who require support with their verbal and non-verbal communication skills at the workplace.

Students can choose from 3 kinds of ESL courses:
- Full-time Intensive
- Part-time - General ESL (mornings and evenings)
- Part-time - Special ESL courses (afternoons and evenings)

Classes for Adult Permanent Residents (Learning Exchange)
The Learning Exchange offers part-time classes and continuous enrollment, which allows students to begin their course without long periods of waiting, provided there is class space available. Instruction for our General ESL classes includes reading, writing, speaking, listening and grammar.

We offer three kinds of part-time courses:
- Literacy - foundational reading and writing skills for those students with no or low literacy in their native language
- General ESL - integrated ESL classes for listening, spekaing, reading, and writing
- Specialized ESL Classes - a variety of skill-focused classes, such as Speak Up for conversation; Write On for writing skills; Speak Clearly for pronunciation; and Really Reading for reading comprehension

- IELTS Intensive Preparation (8 weeks)
- Precise Pronunciation (12 weeks)
