Our ESL program (English as a second language) offers students three different levels of immersion to choose from: Basic, Intensive, and Super-Intensive. A maximum of 16 students per class in our Core, Skills, and Workshop classes allow students to receive the personalized attention they need and the variety they desire.

Private and Semi-private classes
For professionals and local students who want a flexible schedule and personal attention, private and semi-private classes are the best option. These classes are conducive to personalized coaching, where our experienced teachers can cater to the most individualized needs by working on pronunciation, correcting persistent errors, and of course, providing conversation practice on a wide array of topics.

150-hour TESL/TEFL
The 150-hour TESL/TEFL Certificate is designed for future ESL teachers looking for a comprehensive course in communicative language teaching.
This program will give participants the opportunity to:
• learn about and practice using various techniques and current second language teaching methods through micro-teachings
and a 20-hour practicum

• get feedback from experienced trainers on their use of newly acquired teaching techniques

• master some of the most challenging grammar points in the English language

• develop critical thinking skills in order to choose and develop level-appropriate teaching materials

• work on classroom management, lesson planning, and presentation skills

• learn how to teach and plan for special interest classes eg. TOEFL, TOEIC, business English

70-hour TESL Passport™ II
The 70-hour TESL Passport™ II is designed mainly for candidates who want an overview of the world of ESL teaching. This is an introductory course to teaching skills development and communicative grammar. This course gives candidates the opportunity to:
• emerge with a variety of classroom activities and interactive language games

• observe experienced ESL teachers from beginner to advanced levels

• become familiar with some of the most challenging grammar points in the English language

• get feedback from experienced trainers on lesson planning and presentation skills

Emploi Québec
An Emploi Québec accredited training center, ALI offers a wide range of services to all prospective students from Emploi Québec including:
- Free language evaluation prior to starting the course.
- 30 hours per week of intensive language instruction in a fun and interactive classroom setting.
- A choice of several special interest courses at the advanced levels (Business English, TOEIC, etc.) that address vocabulary and competency essential to obtaining work in today's competitive job market.
