English Language Courses in Dublin:

General English:
These courses are available year-round for Elementary to Advanced levels, and focus on the skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking. On all our General English courses, the emphasis is on developing students’ productive and receptive skills and increasing their levels of accuracy and fluency. Our core textbooks are chosen for their range of challenging materials and integrated, communicative approach.

General English Plus:
The GE Fluency Plus course allows students to study 20 hours of General English in the mornings with 5 extra hours of lessons in the afternoons. These afternoon classes are small group with a maximum of 6 students per class. This allows the teacher to give more attention to each student and focus on specific areas of English that are of interest to the class.

General English Intensive:
The Fluency Intensive allows students to study 20 hours of General English in the mornings with 5 hours individual training in the afternoon. Before beginning their course of study students will complete an extensive needs analysis and interview with our Academic Manager to design the afternoon programme.

Intensive Plus:
The Intensive Plus Individual course consists of 25+ hours of one-to-one tuition in the mornings and afternoons.

As with the General English courses, the Intensive Plus course focuses on developing a student’s speaking and listening skills as well as extending their knowledge and range of vocabulary and grammar structures. However, because of the individual nature of the course the classes can be tailored to meet their individual needs and objectives. The course is aimed at those who wish to learn and practice as much English as possible in a short time.
Exam Preparation Courses:
At Atlas Dublin we have specialist exam preparation teachers experienced in training students to take a range of examinations, including the Cambridge FCE and CAE, TOEIC, and IELTS. Our Exam Preparation courses are monitored and designed by our Academic Manager, Gary Tennant who has many years experience teaching the Cambridge exams and is a Cambridge ESOL oral examiner.


Full Time IELTS Preparation Course

We offer IELTS Academic courses year-round. The courses are designed to improve the language and the skills you need to improve your IELTS band score. Because the course is structured to give you the opportunity to develop and practise the key exam skills around different academic topics each week, you can start on any Monday.

We offer two classes for two different levels:

IELTS Improvers – for students who are in the IELTS bands 3.5 to 5.0 (PreIntermediate and Intermediate students. This course combines one class of General English to improve your general English skills with one class of graded IELTS exam preparation. This course will get you ready to take on the full IELTS preparation course.

IELTS Preparation – for students whose current level is at band 5.5 or above. You have the General English level to make the most of full-time IELTS exam preparation and practice. Review and develop key language skills and exam techniques.

Full Time FCE Preparation Course
The First Certificate of English (FCE) is a University of Cambridge ESOL examinaition designed for people who use everyday written and spoken English at an upper-intermediate level. The FCE examination is an extremely popular, internationally recognised qualification in English. The FCE examinations are held in Ireland in March, June, August and December.

The Full-time FCE course provides comprehensive preparation and practice for all five papers. Lessons focus on key grammar and vocabulary, skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking) development and exam strategies. Through the course, learners will become familiar with each part of the exam and will develop proven strategies and approaches to ensure optimum exam performance.

In addition to the regular tuition hours, all FCE candidates will receive a weekly practice paper to complete in their own time – an experienced FCE teacher will correct the paper and provide constructive feedback and advice. There is also a weekly listening practice test, and each candidate will have at least two full mock-speaking papers prior to their exam date.

So, whether you are interested in the FCE for a specific purpose, or would just prefer a structured general English course with a balance of skills development and language learning, the Full-time FCE course should proof a rewarding and effective language learning experience.

Further English Language Courses:
Part Time English Courses:
We have a range of part-time courses that run in the evenings from Intermediate to Advanced levels. These courses are a good option for people who are living and working in Ireland but can’t attend full-time.

Many of the classes have an exam focus, such as for the Cambridge FCE and CAE examinations.

Business English / Executive English courses
At Atlas our specialist 'a la carte' English programme has been designed to provide highly practical, goal-orientated courses that can be followed on an intensive basis in one-to-one classes or in-company small groups.

Our in-house designed suite of programmes are tailored to meet your specific needs and aimed at developing confident, articulate English-language communicators.

Summer School - Junior Group Programmes (ages 12-17). Atlas Language School’s prestigious Junior Programmes run every summer in Dublin, Bristol and Santa Barbara. Our Junior courses allow students to improve their language skills while learning about Irish, British and American culture in a fun and challenging environment.

Our students will grow in confidence as they use English both inside and outside the classroom. They learn not only through teacher-led instruction but also by doing, and sharing their thoughts, ideas and stories with students from other cultures.

Homestay / Host Family Programme
Many students find staying with an Irish family a very rewarding experience as it offers them a unique insight into Irish culture and provides the perfect opportunity to improve English by practising it in a natural everyday environment.
