Fiddlers Retreat:
Fiddlers Retreat, in Tipperary (90 minutes from Dublin), Ireland, is the only traditional Irish Music and Culture school of its kind in Ireland. At Fiddlers Retreat we offer a unique insight into Irelands Music and Culture, where you can enjoy music tuition, afternoon sightseeing tours, night-time Traditional Irish music sessions, sporting events, Irish language and cookery workshops. Homestay accommodation is available with meals. Both adults and students are catered for.

Ms Theresa Bourke - Course Director:

Photo of Irish Music & Culture School in IrelandTheresa’s teaching career started when she gained her traditional Irish music teachers qualification, Teastas I dTeagas Ceolta Tire, in 1993 awarded by the national association of Irish music, Comhaltas Ceoltoiti Eireann.

In 1993 Theresa was asked to join the acclaimed Irish music, song and dance show, Bru Boru, which she was a member of for 7 years.

After completing her secondary school education at the Ursuline convent, Thurles, Theresa gained a B.A. Music with English degree at the National University of Ireland, Maynooth in 1997 and followed that with Higher Diploma in Education, Trinity College Dublin. 1998.

Theresa taught music and english in various secondary schools in Dublin and returned to persue an M.A. in Traditional Irish music performance at the University of Limerick. in 2001

Following this Theresa embarked on a world tour as a professional fiddle player with internationally renowned Irish dance shows Spirit of Ireland and Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance. Theresa spent 3 years touring and performing in pristigous venues in over 40 countries throughout the world.

Theresa left Lord of the Dance to establish Fiddlers Retreat and still finds the time to travel, perform and teach Irish music abroad when the opportunities arises.

In 2007 Theresa gained a Higher Diploma in Public Relations, with Irish Academy of Public Relations at University College Dublin and during the same time, took part in a Business Management Development Programme through Tipperary County Enterprise Board and the Institute of Technology Waterford.

In her spare time Theresa also is also a member of Rotary International, the world’s first service club charity and is a member of The Rotary Club of Thurles, Co. Tipperary, Ireland, district 1160.

Connacht College Of Design
Courses / Programs
The Connacht College of Design is an interior design school that specialises in the Diploma in Professional Interior Design which is offered in various venues throughout Ireland. It is the only course that we offer, so we can concentrate on keeping it fresh and up to date each year.

We are a "school that comes to our students". Avail of Higher Education in Interior Design in your area. We offer upcoming classes in Galway, Castlebar, Sligo, Drogheda and Dundalk. We simply locate a large, safe hotel with excellent conference facilities, and rent this for the school year.

The Diploma in Professional Interior Design course is a combination of lecture, hands-on practical work, and optional field trips. This is a 23 session course consisting of one night per week for 13 weeks in-class lecture/workshop, 6 special design projects to build a portfolio and 4 optional field trips to interior design-oriented venues. Class hours are from 7:30 PM to approximately 10:30 PM. (Some classes will go longer, some are shorter.)
We offer our Diploma in Professional Interior Design course from September to March every year in venues throughout Ireland. Our curriculum covers not only the study and practice of interior design to a professional level, but how to promote and market yourself as an interior designer in a real-world environment.

The Baking Academy of Ireland in Dublin offers hands-on courses in bread and cake baking, chocolate making and sugar craft cake decoration. Our courses are for everybody, the novice and the dedicated amateur. All we require is that you have a desire to learn the art of making real bread, cakes, pastry, chocolates and sugar craft decoration. The most important aspect of our courses is that you learn by doing – you will have fun and you get to bring your creations home.
