Summer Immersion in Southern Spain for High School & College Students
Edu-Culture Immersion:
Based in Berkeley, California, Edu-Culture Immersion (ECI) provides high school students and college students a unique opportunity to improve their Spanish through living with a volunteer Spanish family on the Costa del Sol for 2-4 weeks, though you can choose to stay longer if you wish.
With no program of planned activities, you will live the life of a typical Spanish teenager in the popular beach resort of Almeria, approximately 200km east of Malaga in the Andalusian region of Southern Spain.
Almeria is a great individual immersion program location. The city holds a great deal of charm and is steeped in history. Located at the foot of a mountain range, crowned by a magnificent Arab fortress, Almeria’s Andalusian legacy can be seen everywhere, including in the surrounding villages and in its gastronomy.
Almeria’s nearby mountainous territory is also much used as a movie location, and is most famous for being the backdrop to the Spaghetti Westerns of the seventies. It is a beautiful place in which to spend time soaking up the sun, along with the culture, and all the while improving your spoken Spanish.

The department of Spanish as a foreign language of the Pontificial University of Salamanca offers a quality summer program in Spanish language and culture, covering all levels from beginner to advanced. Join our special summer program at the Pontificial University and experience Salamanca, situated in Castile-Leon, the region where the standard accent of Spanish is spoken. This is the perfect place to study Spanish. Salamanca is a beautiful city of 160,000 inhabitants in western Spain, 200 kilometres from Madrid. In 2002, the city was declared a UNESCO World Heritage City for its architectural and artistic wealth.Our classrooms and facilities reflect our philosophy of teaching: pleasant and bright setting for small groups (12 students maximum), with multimedia equipment, a computer lab with connection to the internet and a room for showing films and documentaries. The School provides free internet access to its students.

LanguageJobSpain (LJS) is a Spanish language school located in La Coruña (only an hour's flight from the cities of Madrid and Barcelona) in the region of Galicia in Northwest Spain. We offer summer Spanish courses for adults and young people as well as a range of other Spanish programs throughout the year. In our summer Spanish courses, we put together language and culture, organizing conversational exchanges with the locals, day trips, guided city tours and other activities that will give you a real view of the Galician and Spanish cultures. Located in Valenica, on Spain's Mediterranean coast, Berklee College of Music offers a 6-week for-credit summer music program to undergraduate students from around the world. All instruction is conducted in English. Students must have proficient English oral, writing and reading skills.Students can choose to immerse themselves in one of three areas: Music Technology and Production, Music and Entertainment Business, or Liberal Arts & Mediterranean Cultural Studies. Our Spain Summer Study Abroad program provides an opportunity for both Berklee and non-Berklee students to earn undergraduate college credit at Berklee.

EIDE, Bilbao

EIDE Spanish School is located in Bilbao, Northern Spain and offers a range of Spanish language courses to students from around the world. In addition to our Spanish courses for adults, we offer 2-week Spanish summer camps for children and teenagers between 11-17 years of age. 1, 3, and 4-week camps can also be arranged on request. Our summer programs combine quality Spanish language courses with fun activities and homestay accommodation with local host families.Spanish classes are held at EIDE. Students attend 20 classes per week and each class lasts 45 minutes. Four activities or half-day excursions are organized each week. There will always be members of our staff with the children during the classes and activities.
EIDE is located in the city centre of Santurtzi, a fishing town on the northern edge of Metropolitan Area of Bilbao. Bilbao is the largest city in the Basque County (close to the French border) and is easily accessible by air, road and rail. It is only 1 hour flight from Madrid and Barcelona and 1.5 hours flight from Malaga. Santander is a 75 minute drive and San Sebastian is 60 minutes drive away. A Brittany Ferries ferry service links Santurtzi to Portsmouth, UK.
