In this type of school, troubled teens frequently find themselves academically successful for the first time in their lives.

We combine a customized curriculum with individual attention (1:7 instructor-to-student ratio) and small class sizes (only 14 girls per class).

In addition to traditional courses required for graduation from a Catholic boarding school, your daughter will also participate in character education.

These classes will help enlighten her about as well as build her self-discipline, compassion, respect, honesty, work ethic, obedience, tendency to forgive and standards of excellence.

Located on a beautiful and safe 150 acre campus in Montana, Turning Winds Academic Institute (TWAI) is a family-run, therapeutic boarding school for troubled teen girls & boys ages 13-18 from Wyoming and across the U.S.

We combine the benefits of a therapeutic boarding school, a wilderness program, and a residential treatment center (RTC) for students who present with issues such as poor academic performance, behavioral problems, addictions, low self-worth, spectrum disorders, ADD/ADHD, and attachment disorders among others.

Accredited by National Independent Private Schools Association (NIPPSA), and Northwest Accreditation Commission (NWAC), we provide an extremely high standard of therapeutic treatment to our students and their families, with an exceptional level of success.

We are a small program (40 students) with a student to staff ratio of 5:1. This allows us to provide a truly unique and customized approach for every student.

TWAI requires a minimum commitment of 3 months. However, best results for lasting success are realized through 6+ months of treatment. The average stay at our residential treatment center is 12 months.

We accept insurance which ultimately allows parents the affordability of treatment.
