Mission:

Photo of Therapeutic Boarding School in UtahOur mission is to inspire each student to respect and pursue educational and moral growth while developing the individual skills crucial to succeed in a complex, changing world.

The Oakley Difference:

The Oakley Difference is in the process of how we approach accomplishing this mission with each of our students. We use a unique and successful therapeutic approach called The Oakley Social Model.

By design, we provide a very structured program that accounts for each hour of each day with our students. Our management focus is to step back and provide fewer restrictions than the average residential treatment center, and allow our students choices -- hard choices.

We provide a life simulator, giving our students more autonomy to make choices, and the support to explore and adjust with each choice they make.

They have the autonomy to make choices about the friends they spend time with here at Oakley, who they contact at home when they earn their phone calls, how to adhere to our dress code, their commitment to sobriety, how they will accomplish their schoolwork, and so on.

Our role is to guide and redirect each student, and influence and model appropriate behavior and choices in a way that is proactive and positive for each student’s path while with us at Oakley.

Residential Life:

Each student is part of a "house" -- a kind of family group that shares home base. Full-time house coaches provide continual support, guidance, role-modeling and safety for the students. This arrangement allows students to exercise interpersonal skills and domestic responsibility.

Each Oakley student will share a large room with three other students. There is a bathroom in each room, and each student will have a bunk, a desk, storage shelves for clothing and books, and a lockable cabinet for valuables.
