Art Classes for Adults, Teenagers & Children:

Group Art Classes for Adults:

- Oil Painting classes: We offer morning and evening classes for all levels. Beginners are guided step-by-step through all stages of creating a painting. Improvers are encouraged to develop their style, through expert guidance, in theme of their own choice.

- Drawing classes: These classes are suitable for all levels. Beginners are guided step-by-step through all stages of observational drawing. Improvers are encouraged to develop their style, through expert guidance, variety of drawing media encouraged. This drawing course will run for 4 weeks:

- Clay Modelling Sculpture workshops: Unique to Art in Galway, we now offer full day and half day sculpture workshops for adults. Learn how to model in air drying clay. You will be taken step by step through the process of clay sculpting.

Art Grinds for Secondary School Students:
Grinds are offered covering the full curriculum for both Junior Certificate and Leaving Certificate students. Sessions are generally for one hour and times may be flexible. Tuition is on a one-to-one basis covering both Art History and practical work.

Portfolio Preparation Courses:
Portfolio preparation for Third-level and Post Leaving-Cert (PLC) courses. All requirements covered. You will receive expert guidance and advice in preparing and presenting a portfolio for college application.

Group Art Classes for Kids:
Art in Galway offer fun after-school art classes for primary school children (ages 5-13) that run throughout the school year. Through expert tuition and guidance, your child will be introduced to a wide variety of art media, such as drawing, painting, sculpture, 3D among others. Classes run on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.

Summer Art Camps for Children:
Art in Galway run summer art camps at various locations in Connacht - Tuam, Balinrobe, Salthill, and at the Four Winds Studio in Murrough, Galway. Camps are one week long and run from 10am-2pm each day.

Big Moon Cottage Meditation Centre, West Cork

Courses / Programs

Big Moon Cottage Meditation Centre offers residential and non-residential meditation courses and retreats in Skibbereen, West Cork in the South of Ireland. Skibbereen is approximately 4 hours drive from Dublin and 1.5 hours drive from Cork City. Courses are held at the weekend and mid-week. Individuals and groups are welcome. We cater for a maximum of 6 people for residential courses and 10 people for the non-residential courses.

The purpose of our Foundation in Meditation courses is to teach you about the background and practice of meditation in a clear, enjoyable and practical way. As a result you will be able to meditate effectively and correctly on your own by the end of the course. Your teacher Susan O'Brien has many years' experience and will guide your progress in small groups and in a very supportive and friendly environment.

In the winter season, we offer one-week residential Foundation in Meditation courses which are held in Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands off the northwest coast of Africa. This is a quiet and relaxing alternative one-week holiday sharing a beautiful villa with like-minded people. This holiday is available to meditators and non-meditators alike.

- Residential or non-residential Foundation in Meditation courses. For individuals and groups at weekends or mid-week.

- In winter season, we offer one-week residential Foundation in Meditation courses in Fuerteventura, Canary Islands.

- Bed & Breakfast accommodation for adults only at Big Moon Cottage. B & B open to all meditators and others who are just seeking quiet time.
