Intensive English
This 30-lesson per week program is ELC's most popular and covers all of the major language skills including: grammar, vocabulary, conversation, pronunciation, listening comprehension, reading, and writing. All intermediate and advanced students also have a choice of electives two afternoons per week.
Semi-Intensive English
Also one of ELC's most popular programs, this 20-lesson per week course is designed to improve communication skills and is perfect for students who want to study English in the mornings and enjoy ELC's beautiful cities in the afternoons.
TOEFL Test Preparation
Offered year-round to high intermediate and advanced students, TOEFL Preparation is an intensive, 30-lesson per week course. It combines 20 lessons of General English and 10 lessons focusing on TOEFL preparation and academic skills. Students are trained to take both the Internet based TOEFL and the paper-based TOEFL.
Cambridge FCE & CAE Exam Preparation
Offered for both 8 weeks and 11 weeks, these courses prepare students to pass either the Cambridge First Certificate (FCE) or the Certificate of Advanced English (CAE). The FCE is the most widely recognized proof of language ability at the upper intermediate level. The CAE also has tremendous popularity as an assessment of advanced abilities in English. Students in the FCE and CAE Preparation Courses focus on not only passing the final examination, but also on improving their general accuracy and fluency in English. These are dedicated courses, limited to FCE and CAE students who will take the exam at its conclusion. Students in the 8-week courses join the 11-week course in progress. All students must successfully pass a pre-test in order to participate in these courses. Both ELC locations are proud to be official University of Cambridge testing centers.
