Spark Spanish is a young, vibrant and dynamic Spanish language school and cultural residence situated ‘off the beaten track’ in the beautiful coastal town of El Puerto de Santa Maria in the province of Cadiz in Southern Spain. At Spark Spanish, we strive to create a friendly environment with a dedicated, professional and talented team who are always at your disposal to meet your educational, personal and cultural needs.
A big part of what makes us different to other schools is our range of Spanish courses, from general Spanish to total immersion and Spanish language holidays, all of which aim to allow anyone, regardless of age and level, to learn the Spanish language. Our courses provide a combination of in-class teaching and a range of cultural activities and events to ensure that our students thoroughly enjoy their learning experience with us.
Students benefit from a truly personal approach to language learning with extra challenges and incentives which promote the use and consolidation of the language while our cultural residence brings a diverse range of people to live together alongside our Spanish speaking staff to create a friendly and communal atmosphere that makes our residence so popular with our students.
Spanish Language Courses:
- General Spanish Course: 20 hours Spanish classes and 10 hours of cultural events a week at very reasonable prices.
- An intensive DELE course which helps prepare you to take the DELE exam.
- We offer Spanish holidays, which are combined courses - for example, Spanish and dance where you can learn typical Spanish dance, flamenco, Spanish and Feria, and also Spanish and sports.
- An Au Pair course where we help find you families that you can be an Au Pair for, plus you learn Spanish with us.
At Spark we have a unique addition to your learning. We offer all our students on-site residence area which is on the second floor of the Spark Academy complex (a renovated hostal) and this is the recommended accommodation option if you want to further enhance your Spanish skills, feel part of and socialize with the other course members and at the same time have your own independence.
There are 13 rooms (for 1 – 2 people), nearly all of them en suite. Sparkville has communal kitchen and dinning area which acts as a great social gathering point that adds to the unique Sparkville atmosphere. There are also numerous chill out / social areas, such as the Plaza de la Americas (a little “outdoor” space, with tv and a glass roof to protect you from rain or sun) and a big roof terrace which is ideal for barbeques, sunbathing and evening drinks, which facilitate interaction with other students and staff. The thing that makes this unique is that we have at all times 2 native Spanish speakers living in the residence. This enables you to practice and use the Spanish you have learnt in class all the time!
At Spark we believe that learning a language is more than going to class in the morning. Learning a language is also a personal experience, an opportunity to meet other people, a chance to immerse yourself in a different culture, a time for personal development and much more. This is why we put a lot of emphasis on our Social Events Programme, as we thoroughly believe that this plays a very important part in making your Spark experience not just a fantastic experience, but one you will never actually forget.
In our Social Events Programme we combine various activities to allow our students to make the most of their time here, by combining cultural activities, such as sherry or wine tasting, horse riding shows and days to explore El Puerto, with nature days, where you visit beautiful beaches or go for a hike in the mountains, and city trips, to Sevilla, Marrakesh or Granada, to name just a few.
All of us have a lot of experience in language teaching in many different areas, including language academies, primary and secondary schools and language camps. Every day, we use our experience and knowledge to provide our students with the opportunities they need to make their language learning a positive adventure. Students will find our team personal and full of brightspark ideas, not to mention the all-important helping hand whenever needed! We believe that anyone can learn a language and we also understand that we all do this in different ways. We ensure that in all the lessons, and the cultural events, all aspects of learning a new language are covered.
