Toddler Learning Community:
Our intent, in the toddler community, is to provide an environment prepared exclusively for the characteristics of children between the ages of 18 through 36 months for discovery and learning. The purpose of the toddler community is to assist the toddler during this special period of growth and their first venture from home. The toddler teachers prepares the environment with age appropriate activities that foster the natural desire of the toddler’s internal need for exploration and independence.

Preschool Learning Community:
The prepared environment of the preschool community encourages the child of 3 through 6 years of age to absorb information as a natural and joyful activity. The Montessori materials help to stimulate and develop fine discrimination in all senses. Age appropriate exercises assist the child in developing mastery of coordination and movement, learning about social relationships and self care skills. The prepared environment allows the child to develop independence.

Elementary Learning Community:
The elementary class is a community of learners grouped into the lower elementary, ages six to nine, and the upper elementary, ages nine to twelve. Children in the elementary classroom are moving toward abstract reasoning, developing a moral sense, and have a passionate drive to learn about the natural and social world.

Enrichment Programs:
Musikgarten:
Musikgarten is a music literacy program for children. Our classes foster a love of music in a family context that forms a lifetime appreciation for music. We respond to the flow, meter, and texture of music with movement and singing, and enrich those experiences with instruments. The class context fosters social development and self confidence. Musikgarten has a core group of songs that move with the children as they progress from one class level to the next, from birth through age 9.

Art:
The elementary art program has a multi-media curriculum that encompasses a variety of art studies including art history, drawing, painting, and different forms of sculpture. The children are offered the knowledge of basic principles and element of art to give more meaning and substance to their art appreciation. This knowledge also serves to improve their critical thinking, problem solving and visual awareness defined as how they view the world around them.

Spanish:
Lessons in Spanish are offered starting at the preschool level and continue through the elementary years. Students acquire a vocabulary of commonly used words and develop those into conversational phrases at the elementary level. An appreciation of the culture of our neighbors to the south, Mexico, is fostered through highlighting dances, food, celebrations and folktales.

Thai Chi:
Thai Chi class is a reprieve from our fast paced world. Students are given tools to reduce stress through holding poses and controlled breathing. Thai Chi encourages body awareness, self-health and relaxation helping the children navigate life's challenges. This physical activity is non-competitive and fosters cooperation and compassion. Thai Chi enhances the students' flexibility, strength and coordination.
