International Master of Business Administration (IMBA) Program:
International MBA China Track:
American industry leaders are deeply involved in doing business in China. These firms need the business savvy of U.S. managers with knowledge of the Chinese language and culture. Interestingly, there is a growing trend for Chinese firms to hire foreign managers for important positions. Students in our International MBA (IMBA) program who elect the “China Track” participate in a semester-long study-abroad and take Chinese language courses both during their year at the Chapman School and for one month in China.
Organizational Information Systems:
This course provides an introduction to information systems and their role in organizations from a user's viewpoint. It surveys and reviews applications of the basic concepts necessary for understanding information systems. It includes study of the main activities in the development cycle used to acquired information systems capabilities.
Colloquium in Managing Organizational Ethics:
Management issues, responsibilities, and techniques associated with public and private expectations for ethical performance of large-scale organizations.
Organizational Design and Behavior:
Covers how managers interact with organizations to accomplish complex tasks by examining how strategy, structure and systems interact with behavioral variables.
International Business Environment:
This course examines the environmental variables affecting international operations, trade and investment theories, international institutions, and regional economic groups. It also focuses on international finance, international marketing, and international management problems and issues.
Corporate Finance:
In-depth examination of asset, liability and capital structure management, with emphasis on valuation capital budgeting techniques; risk evaluation; working capital management, and methods of short-term, intermediate and long-term financing.
Legal Environment of Business:
This course studies the importance of law and legal institutions on commerce workings of administrative law, various aspects of employment legislation and other areas of legal environment of business.
Operations Management:
This course covers analysis, design, and operations organizational systems. The system approach is used to provide a framework or general model of analysis, to which specific concepts, quantitative techniques, and tools can be related. The material presented has application to any organization of people and machines, including hospitals, government agencies, services organizations, and industrial concerns.
Professional Development Seminar I:
Seminars will focus on soft skills such as leadership, team building, oral presentation, writing skills and career exploration. There will be team-building activities which include classroom exercises in group decision-making and problem-solving. Challenging outdoor exercises will be included to help participants build the skills they will need to work together in the program and to succeed in today's team-based organizations. Students will also work with a presentation and writing skills coach to improve the communication and writing skills that are critical to managerial success. All Professional Development Seminars are mandatory.

Marketing Management:
This course is the analysis and application of theory and problem solving for marketing management in the global environment. Emphasis will be on the role of marketing in the organization, planning the marketing effort, management of marketing effort, management of marketing organizations, control of marketing operations, and evaluations of the marketing contributions.
International Management:
This course deals primarily with the managerial practices and functions that characterize successful international corporations. It covers issues of organizational structure, planning and budgeting systems, management development and human resources, ethics, cross-cultural issues, the applicability and adaptation of culture-bound policies, communications, and the management of multi-cultural teams. Emphasis is placed on the processes by which multinational organizations are managed, including conflict management, multi-country integration mechanisms, and negotiation strategies.
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
This course uses a comprehensive treatment of analysis of financial statements as aid for decision making; looks at current state of financial reporting practices and impact of published statements on economic systems.
