Saint Joseph’s Episcopal School, Boynton Beach:

Early Childhood Academy Program:
The Early Childhood Academy is an educational environment specifically designed for children ages 1 through 3. The teachers honor each child’s spirit, individual needs, and learning styles while promoting and modeling respect, integrity, dignity, responsibility, and life-long learning skills. As the children become equipped through the repetition of using carefully selected materials, they will naturally master their developmental milestones.

Elementary School Program:
In elementary school children are challenged with a first and second curriculum to develop learning skills through a variety of experiences. Main sujects include math, reading, spelling, English, social studies, science, Spanish, art and technology. We have fun practicing our spelling words using shaving cream, practicing and learning math skills through manipulatives, and bringing our reading stories to life by acting, creating props, and baking cakes.

At the start of elementary school the students are introduced to Accelerated Reader as part of their reading curriculum, and enjoy taking quizzes using the computer. Show and Tell is an important monthly event, and some of the field trips that we explore are the Palm Beach International Airport Fire Station and Bethesda Memorial Hospital.

Middle School Program:

* English:
The Sixth to Eight grade English class focuses on the primary facets of language and literature. We develop a strong foundation in reading and reading comprehension, writing skills and literary study by use of the Language Network textbook series, the Accelerated Reader program, the Writing Assessment Program (WRAP) and several class novels.

* Geometry:
The course provides a flexible approach to the study of earth measurement. Students will analyze characteristics and properties of two- and three-dimensional shapes and will develop mathematical arguments about geometric relationships.

* American History:
This courses aims to provide a program for the students to learn the events of American History from the events leading to the Civil War through events which have taken place during their life time.

* Computer Application:
Middle school students are proficient in typing, printing, and compiling essays, lab reports, papers (including footnotes), and Simple web page HTML construction

* Art and Art History:
Sixth to Eighth graders express themselves through art while honing their skills and techniques with a variety of art materials. Good craftsmanship, art history and culture, creative expression, and aesthetic perception are covered.

Other key subjects include Algrebra, Biological Science & Spanish.
