Parfum De France:
Parfum de France is a French language school located in the historical village of Fontevraud L'Abbaye in Western Loire, in the historic heart of France. The Loire Valley is situated in the west-center region, 2 hours southwest of Paris, and north of Bordeaux, in between the towns of Tours and Blois. Loire Valley is famous for breathtaking landscape, its wine and flourishing vineyards, and its rich Renaissance architectural heritage. Only 15 minutes from Saumur town, Fontevraud is a stunning village where its inhabitants are happy to share with you the French country life with the gentle flow of the Loire river, beautiful landscapes and villages.

Our courses puts emphasis on active communication based on exchanges in real situations where you will build up your reflexes for spontaneous conversation. We use an interactive method of teaching based on learning by practice. The emphasis is on speaking, understanding and personal interaction. Each student gets that essential personal attention and speaking time to progress.

Grammar is covered as much as possible by using practical situations so speaking and using the language is central.A large part of the study material is presented in the form of practical activities and exercises through which you will learn to understand and speak French almost without noticing.The daily programme mixes classroom time and specific activities with visits to the major sights.

Our courses are taught at all levels, in individual, semi-individual, mini-groups (3 to 4 people) or small groups (5 to 8 people).

Inviting Atmosphere:
Accompanied by your trainer, you will discover some gems of the local life: wine-tasting, French cuisine, cultural visits, shows and boat trips along the Loire. Each excursion provides students with the opportunity to have a genuine conversation with French native speakers and really interact with French speaking people in the real world, outside the classroom.

Parfum de France is a registered business run by Sylvie Reeves, a French national, multilingual and an experienced French As A Foreign Language teacher.

Accommodation:
For individual, couple and family / friends courses, you can stay at your teacher's home in her self-catering vacation rental "La Samsonelle", (subject to availability). Otherwise, you will be expected to arrange your own accommodation.

For the Art de Vivre and Culinary Delights and the Local Crafts and Traditions Discovery Trail group theme courses, arrangements will be made for you to stay in the Hostellerie la Croix Blanche (but if there is room in your teacher's gîte, you are more than welcome to stay there).
