Founded in 1873, Morgan Park Academy (MPA) is a co-educational, college preparatory, independent day school dedicated to preparing students for college and inspiring them to strive for excellence and realize their full potential, both academically and as individuals. We are located in the Morgan Park residential area of Chicago in Cook County. Families come to MPA from communities throughout Chicago, the southern and western suburbs in Cook, DuPage, Kankakee, and Will counties, as well as northwest Indiana. Our highly motivated faculty is complemented by a stimulating, time-tested curriculum. We have some of the smallest class sizes among the top schools in Illinois.

* We provide a rigorous curriculum with English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Spanish, French, Visual Arts, Music and Physical Education.

After & Before Care (ABC) Program:

The After and Before Care Program (ABC), is an extended day care program that services Preschool thru Middle School students during non-school hours. This program is provided as a service to parents and is staffed by MPA faculty and other qualified persons. The approximate pupil-teacher ratio is 10:1 for PK and K, and 15:1 for Lower School and Middle School.

Student-Centered Environment:

In a student-centered environment, instruction in language arts, mathematics, science, social studies and foreign language is integrated with classes in art and music that meet twice weekly. Daily physical education is also included.

Through a wide variety of learning experiences, we are also able to provide the child with many opportunities to learn about differing cultures, understand the world in which we live, participate in fine and performing arts activities and develop co-ordination, flexibility and muscular skills.

Extra-Curricular Activities:

All students take physical education and may participate on athletic teams in soccer, basketball, wrestling, tennis and softball.

In addition, there are many clubs, including Middle School Band, Student Council, National Junior Honor Society, B.A.B.C. (community service club), Newspaper, Chess Club, Science Club and French Club.

Children's Garden Montessori, Oak Park

Children's Garden Montessori is located in Oak Park, west of Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. It is a Montessori Pre-school & Kindergarten with daycare education programs for children ages 2 through to 6 years, of all races, religions and national origin. Children's Garden Montessori pre-school is a privately owned and operated school, chartered in Oak Park and licensed by the Department of Children and Family Services.

We serve Oak Park, Melrose Park, Galewood, Montclare, Elmwood Park and surrounding communities. Children must be at least 2 yrs old before entry and can stay until they complete the Kindergarten Year. We employ both Montessori & Early Childhood Education trained teachers.

Acacia Academy Private Special Education / Therapeutic School
Courses / Programs
Acacia Academy is an accredited, private special education / therapeutic school for grades 1-12 and offers a Transition Program for ages 18-22 servicing the Chicago, IL area. The Acacia tree symbolizes what our school strives to achieve: educational stability with roots of strength and character that will last a lifetime making Acacia Academy a safe place to grow and learn.

Offering a variety of school year and summer programs designed to meet each student’s learning objectives in terms of his/her learning capabilities. Acacia Academy is AdvancED accredited and has locations in La Grange and Burr Ridge Illinois.

The Illinois State Board of Education has approved Acacia Academy for out-of-district placement for special education. Students from all over northern Illinois attend Acacia Academy. In many cases, the school district provides tuition and transportation. 

Acacia teachers are flexible in their approach to teaching and will personalize the curriculum to adhere to the student learning needs, as opposed to the student modifying themselves for the curriculum. Differentiated Instruction (DI) is a systematic approach to planning curriculum and instruction for an academically diverse learner through responsive teaching. 

Responsive teaching is focusing on who we teach, what we teach, where we teach, and how we are teaching.  Teachers consider student characteristics of readiness, interests and learning styles while planning curriculum.

The Children's House Lake Meadows, Chicago

The Children's House Lake Meadows provides distinct and proven Early Education Experience programs for children ages 6 weeks through to 12 years of age. The Children's House is privately owned, and currently operates 4 facilities in Cook County, Illinois, including Chicago City, Park Forest and Markham. The Children's House Lake Meadows is fully licensed by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.

We employ only qualified teachers and teachers aides, and keep our class sizes small to provide your child with a comfortable environment that is conductive to learning. Our endeavor is to provide parents, regardless of their hours of work or school schedule, with quality care for their children. Because of our desire to accommodate the many schedules incurred in the 21st century, The Children's House is open 130 hours a week, versus the normal 60 hours at most child care centers.

Montessori Academy Spanish Immersion (MASI), located in the north side of Oak Park, north western Chicago in Cook County, Illinois, is a private home montessori academy offering 100% Spanish Immersion for children 15 months to 12 years of age.

Child's Play Touring Theatre

Child's Play Touring Theatre, based in Chicago, Illinois, is a private touring theatre company offering workshops, residencies, after school programs, and summer camps across the USA. Child's Play Touring Theatre travels all over the country performing stories and poems written by children. Our mission is to share, encourage and validate the creativity of children by performing original works of theatre, music, and dance adapted from literature written by young authors.

Through performances, workshops and intensive residencies, Child's Play is a touring company that has reached an audience of over 4.2 million children, teachers and parents in 38 states.
