Morgan Park Academy, Chicago:
Founded in 1873, Morgan Park Academy (MPA) is a co-educational, college preparatory, independent day school dedicated to preparing students for college and inspiring them to strive for excellence and realize their full potential, both academically and as individuals. We are located in the Morgan Park residential area of Chicago in Cook County. Families come to MPA from communities throughout Chicago, the southern and western suburbs in Cook, DuPage, Kankakee, and Will counties, as well as northwest Indiana. Our highly motivated faculty is complemented by a stimulating, time-tested curriculum. We have some of the smallest class sizes among the top schools in Illinois.

Academics:
Morgan Park Academy provides a continuous education from Preschool through 12th grade. While many of our students join us somewhere in the middle of our thirteen-year program, all students benefit from the open communication between our teachers and the sequential academic plan that develops our students intellectually, socially and physically, throughout their academic career.

Lower School Program
:
The Lower School's goals are to develop and foster a positive self-image, master basic educational skills and academic habits, and to balance intellectual, creative and physical growth, all to help students develop a lifelong love of learning.

Emphasis is placed on linking reading and writing, promoting an understanding of math concepts, and using science and social studies to expand the child's perception of his or her Photo of Private School in Chicago, Illinoisenvironment.

Middle School Program:
This is when our students apply the skills and habits learned within the nurturing environment of our Lower School to develop the independent talents that will carry them into and through high school and college.

The Middle School employs an advisory program. Each student chooses a faculty advisor with whom they regularly meet to discuss academic and other issues. This program, added to ongoing studies, arts, sports and community interests, round out the personalized curriculum and helps determine strengths and interests.

Upper School Program:
The Upper School is the culmination of college preparation at Morgan Park Academy. Courses are taught at three levels: college preparatory, honors and advanced placement (AP). Learning is authentic and engaging. The dialogues and interchanges between the faculty and students, all set against an ivy-league style campus, are true hallmarks of MPA.

After & Before Care (ABC) Program Program
:
The After and Before Care Program (ABC), is an extended day care program that services Preschool thru Middle School students during non-school hours. This program is provided as a service to parents and is staffed by MPA faculty and other qualified persons. The approximate pupil-teacher ratio is 10:1 for PK and K, and 15:1 for Lower School and Middle School.

Athletics Program:
Interscholastic sports are an integral part of the total program at MPA. We believe that each student is a valued individual with Photos of Morgan Park Academy, Chicagounique physical, social, emotional and intellectual needs. MPA prides itself on teaching the whole child. We offer many choices for our athletes here at MPA.

Fall sports offered to our students in high school are: boys’ soccer, boys’ golf, girls’ tennis and girls’ volleyball. For students in the middle school we offer: boys’ soccer and girls’ volleyball. Winter sports for high school are: boys’ basketball, girls’ basketball, cheerleading and co-ed club bowling. Middle school winter sports offered are: boys’ basketball and girls’ basketball. Spring sports for high school are: boys’ baseball, boys’ tennis, girls’ softball and girls’ soccer. Middle school spring sports are: boys’ baseball, girls’ softball and girls’ soccer.

Wellness Program:
The Wellness Program at MPA is organized around the concept of "wellness": Taking an educational and preventative approach to building skills to enhance the academic, social and emotional growth of all students.
