As a student at our school you will be representing Lake Forest Academy, where character, history, scholarship, school spirit, citizenship and responsibility are promoted so you will have the necessary skills to face your future with strength and confidence.

Boarding:
Our boarding students come from all over the U.S. and the world. As a boarding student you will live in one of the four gender-based dormitories on campus. Our dorms range in size from 10 to 72 students. 

Each dorm is staffed by a team of resident faculty members, many of whom live in apartments attached to the dormitories. These faculty members supervise evening study hours, sponsor weekend trips and activities, and are on hand whenever students need assistance. Each dorm also has a team of student proctors who help our boarders with everything from checking in at curfew to managing study time effectively.

Agape Boarding School, Stockton
Courses / Programs
Located in Stockton, in Cedar County, southwest Missouri, Agape Boarding School is a non-profit boarding school for troubled and at risk boys in Grades 6-12 that specializes in a college preparatory program with AP courses, SAT and ACT along with a behavior modification program.

For the young man whose relationship has been destroyed with his parents, we help to repair and rebuild that relationship.

Instead of the student quitting or resorting to the "easy" solution, the staff at Agape work with these young men in order that they may find the right answers to their problems. The minimum stay in twelve months. We are accredited by the State of Missouri.

Students live in our new four-story dormitory building with 32 completely private shower stalls, bathroom facilities to accommodate 28 students at a time, and 160 individual student closet areas.

We have recently added a brand new basketball gymnasium with two separate workout areas. For outdoor events Agape has a swimming pool and a multi-use field with a baseball diamond in the southeast section. Students are able to play intramural flag football, soccer, and baseball during free time.

Runnymede School for Boys
Courses / Programs
Runnymede School is a Christian year-round boarding school in rural Missouri for boys (ages 9-16) having behavioral, academic and emotional problems.

Runnymede School is located on 31 acres about 30 minutes from Springfield and offers a disciplined, structured and purposeful lifestyle that strives to reform destructive behavior while teaching Godly masculinity. Runnymede focuses on daily biblical counseling and lots of hard work in basic life skills.

With only four students per class, your son will receive invaluable one on one tutoring and counsel that can be given when they sit in the house and when they walk by the way, when they lie down and when they rise up.

Again, with intensified counseling and mentoring your son will be away from home for less time, which means less cost for you.
Year-Long Boarding School Program for Boys Ages 9-16:

- Individualized intruction in all core classes plus many extra classes unique to Runnymede School. Each student receives a personalized curriculum upon admission.

Turning Winds Academic Institute (TWAI)

Located in northwestern Montana, Turning Winds Academic Institute (TWAI) is an accredited, family-run, therapeutic boarding school for troubled teens (boys and girls) ages 13-18 from Missouri and across the United States.

In our beautiful, peaceful, and safe location, we combine the benefits of a therapeutic boarding school, a wilderness program, and a residential treatment center (RTC).

TWAI has been serving struggling teens and their families since 2002, with an exceptional degree of success.

We provide an extremely high standard of therapeutic treatment to our students, and offer help for the following presenting issues: poor academic performance, behavioral problems, addictions, low self-worth, spectrum disorders, ADD/ADHD, and attachment disorders among others.

With a passion for helping young people in crisis, our clinical, educational, and operations staff are among the best in the country.

We are a small program (40 students) which means that we are able to provide a truly unique and customized approach for every student.

Typically our on site student to staff ratio is 5:1. The average stay at our residential treatment center is 12 months.

TWAI graduates average a 3.5 GPA. It is common for a student to complete 1.5 years of course work in 1 year.
Scattergood Friends School

Located in Cedar County in southeast Iowa, Scattergood Friends School is a co-educational Quaker boarding and day school founded in 1890. We provide a college preparatory education with AP courses, SAT and ACT to students in Grades 9-12 from around the world.

Unique in our approach, we emphasize living in community and are devoted to fostering the growth of the whole person. As part of our program, we also offer an independent study program where students choose topics of interest, a laptop program, and month long trips.

Salem4youth Therapeutic Christian Boarding School

Based in Flanagan, Illinois, Salem4youth is a Christian Therapeutic Boarding School for troubled boys and young men in Grades 3-12.

We offer an educational program that is specifically structured to support the supervision and training of students that have special challenges.

These challenges can include emotional and behavioral problems, learning difficulties, lack of motivation and other difficulties that may be the result of self-harming or other detrimental behaviors, including drug and alcohol use. As a Christian Boarding School, our therapy is Biblical-based.

We combine our educational program with equine therapy. Using horses therapeutically and vocationally, boys receive riding instructions and are given the responsibility to care for the horses. The relationships developed with our horses help each young man develop self-esteem, control, and responsibility.
