Daizawa International School (DIS) is an International preschool and kindergarten in the Setagaya area of Tokyo, Japan. We provide learning opportunities for all children from 18 months to 6 years. In our programs, thematic learning forms the core curriculum, with emphasis on practical life, sensorial development, social development, and creative expression. The children are encouraged to become independent thinkers, and we aim to open their eyes to a world of discovery.

We introduce the children to a wide variety of information during the year through our monthly themes. Each theme we will also be taking a look at a different culture and educating the children about the world around them.

SPROUT Program (18 months to 2.5 years old):
Children this age may be separating from their parents for the first time and we understand how difficult this can be for them. We work hard to develop a strong bond with the children and create a positive image of school. Children this age are entering into their first social experiences and we seek to make this as fun for them as possible.

MAPLE Program (2.5 years to 4 years old):

Maples have settled into life at school and are ready for greater challenges. This is a time where children are really exploring their world and we help to reinforce and strengthen their confidence and give them skills they need to develop into truly excellent learners. We offer the Maples a balanced academic curriculum along with loads of fun,exciting, and creative experiences.

OAK Program (4 years to 6 years old):
The Oaks have truly grown into big kids, and their minds are really ready for the next step. Children this age are very inquisitive and the Oak’s excellent academic program will answer their many questions and will help to set them on a path of life-long learning and success. The Oaks will also be engaged in lots of exciting projects and creative tasks tailored just for them.

After-School Program:
Each day we offer the option of extension care or a specialized afternoon workshop to keep the children engaged with something fresh and exciting every afternoon.

New Hope International Preschool, Tokyo
Courses / Programs
New Hope International Preschool in Tokyo, Japan is an affordable, quality Christian preschool and kindergarten. School hours are from 10:00 to 2:30, Monday through Friday. Some of our graduates enter elementary school in the spring (Japanese schools), while others enter in the fall (international schools).

Rather than having a fixed beginning and ending of the school-year, we use three terms. Orientation is held at the beginning of each term (April, January, and September). Graduation ceremonies are in March for children who will enter elementary school in the spring, and at the end of June for children who will enter elementary school in the fall.
