Accreditation:
Chance School is accredited by the Independent Schools Association of the Central States (ISACS), a membership organization of more than 200 independent schools from 15 states within the Midwest region. Chance School is incorporating the guidelines of the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs (NAECP), a division of The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the nation’s largest organization of early childhood educators.
Our Rich History:
1953 marked the opening of a unique nursery school – the first of its kind in Louisville, Kentucky. The school was operated by Virginia Thomas Chance, a distinguished educator with a progressive approach to education. After just six years, a group of students’ parents recruited Mrs. Chance to become the director of a new non-profit, parent-sponsored, independent school for young children; what is now known as Chance School.
Through the constant support and commitment of those who strongly believe in the Chance philosophy, what started as a small school with a big idea is now an established, fully accredited school, serving up to 250 students from age two through the fifth grade.

The Academy for Individual Excellence, located in Louisville, Kentucky, is a family oriented private co-ed school offering educational services for students of pre-school age through 12 Grade. The school’s capacity is five hundred and serves both male and female. The population of the Academy is comprised of students with a variety of needs and from a variety of backgrounds. The Academy began as a preschool and, by adding a grade level each year, has grown to its present state. The Director/Principal holds a Bachelor’s degree in education (1-8) and a Masters of Education with an emphasis on Curriculum. Wee Care Daycare is located in Lexington, part of the Lexington–Fayette–Frankfort–Richmond Combined Statistical Area in Fayette County, Kentucky. We are a family owned childcare center offering programs for infants from six weeks to four year olds. We are licensed by the state of Kentucky and are recognized by the STARS for Kids Now Organization.
