KCD provides its students with a wide variety of athletic, extracurricular, fine arts, and community service opportunities. The school fosters an environment in which students are encouraged to explore new interests and are supported in their efforts by a committed faculty. Our philosophy is to combine a wide degree of student participation with a high level of achievement. Nearly every student who wishes to participate can find an opportunity to do so, and the result is a student body that is broadly involved in activities outside the classroom.

Advanced Placement Courses:
Twenty-one Advanced Placement courses are taught in Biology, Calculus, Chemistry, Computer Science, English, European History, French, Latin, Physics, Psychology, Spanish, Statistics, U.S. Government and Politics, and U.S. History. in 2009-2010, 133 students took 263 AP exams. 78% scored 3 or higher.

Fine Arts:
KCD offers a fine arts program for all students in junior kindergarten through twelfth grade, including classes in visual art, drama and play production, and choral and instrumental music.

Athletics:

KCD has seventeen middle school athletic teams, eleven junior varsity teams, and twenty-two varsity teams. Over seventy-five percent of students in grades five through twelve participate in at least one sport.

Accreditation:

KCD is accredited through the Independent Schools Association of the Central States and the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. KCD is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools and the Louisville Independent School Coalition.

Blue Grass Baptist School

Located in Lexington, in the Lexington–Fayette–Frankfort–Richmond Combined Statistical Area of Fayette County, Kentucky, Blue Grass Baptist School is a private Christian Kindergarten through 12th Grade school. Wee Care Daycare

Wee Care Daycare is located in Lexington, part of the Lexington–Fayette–Frankfort–Richmond Combined Statistical Area in Fayette County, Kentucky. We are a family owned childcare center offering programs for infants from six weeks to four year olds. We are licensed by the state of Kentucky and are recognized by the STARS for Kids Now Organization. Moreover we are a Better Business Bureau accredited business and members of the Child Care Council of Kentucky.

Our aim is to provide a safe, caring atmosphere for children to explore, learn, and grow. We have had the pleasure of watching many children grow with us from infancy and graduate onto Kindergarten. We work closely with the Fayette County School System to prepare your children for kindergarten.

Academy for Individual Excellence

The Academy for Individual Excellence, located in Louisville, Kentucky, is a family oriented private co-ed school offering educational services for students of pre-school age through 12 Grade. The school’s capacity is five hundred and serves both male and female. The population of the Academy is comprised of students with a variety of needs and from a variety of backgrounds. The Academy began as a preschool and, by adding a grade level each year, has grown to its present state.

The Director/Principal holds a Bachelor’s degree in education (1-8) and a Masters of Education with an emphasis on Curriculum. Faculty and staff have degrees in education and/or are experienced in their field of expertise.
