ITHA is situated in a characteristic 1910 inner city mansion. Our classrooms are spacious and airy with a tasteful mixture of the original and modern era.

Just a five-minute stroll away you will find the famous Museum Boymans and its park as well as the Dutch Architecture Institute (NAI) and the Kunsthal. A little walk further along you wander upon the trendy Witte de Withstraat where there are many places you can have a nice after lesson lunch or dinner or simply visit one of the many art galleries.

The walk from Rotterdam Central Station to ITHA only takes 15 minutes over the Nieuwe Binnenweg where you can get easily distracted by a range of interesting little shops and cafes.

Underground /metro ( stop Dijkzigt); Tram 4 ( stop Nieuwe Binnenweg- Mathenesserlaan) and Bus 32 (stop Claes de Vrieselaan -Mathenesserlaan) will drop you within 1 to 5 minutes walking distance of ITHA.

- By Car:
ITHA is easily to get to by car and the parking facilities are good, in front of the Institute or 50 meters away.

The Direct Dutch institute, founded in 1985, is situated near the centre of The Hague, Netherlands, only a few minutes away from Laan van NOI Station. Direct Dutch provides effective courses for Belgian students wishing to experience total Dutch language immersion in Holland and foreigners from around the world who wish to acquire an active command of Dutch while staying in the Netherlands. Belgian students can travel quickly and conveniently to The Hague by train: it only takes 1 hour, 26 mins from Antwerp and 2 hours, 5 mins from Brussels to travel to The Hague by InterCity train.

We use the direct method, which means that we try to speak Dutch as much as possible during the lessons. (Since some aspects of the grammar will be explained in English, it is important that participants of beginners courses have a basic knowledge of English). Whatever you want to learn Dutch for professional or personal reasons, our Dutch courses will help to make you an insider rather than an outsider in The Netherlands.

We provide Dutch language instruction for all levels according to the Common European Framework of Reference, from beginners' level (A0) to experienced (B2, state exam level Dutch as a foreign language 1 and 2). You can choose from different modes of study - intensive courses, evening classes, Saturday classes, private & semi-private lessons and distance learning via Skype. Study materials are being carefully selected and prepared from various sources. They are easily understandable, fun and interesting to learn from. There is no ONE boring textbook!

We focus on good grammar and useful vocabulary and our groups are limited to a number of 7 people (6 for higher levels) to insure the full development of each student and to provide the maximum attention and advice from the teachers.
