It is located in Bury St Edmunds, a town in the county of Suffolk in the south-east of England, approximately 90 minutes north-east of London and 30 minutes east of Cambridge.

Our small school size but spacious surroundings allow us to look after each boy or girl as an individual in an environment they find both understanding and supportive. Our class sizes ensure that overseas students integrate fully and receive an educational experience they enjoy while they are with us, and value afterwards.

Each boy and girl is a welcome member of our family for who they are; no-one needs to be worried about being overlooked, misunderstood or side-lined. This inclusiveness is at the heart of our school’s strength.

After all, good teaching depends and thrives upon the quality of the relationship between teacher and student. The better they understand each other, the more the rapport is tailored at a personal level, the more fruitful and lasting are the educational gains.

Rochester Independent College, in the County of Kent, just east of London, offers a distinctive alternative to a conventional sixth form and a stepping stone between school and university.

Established in 1984, we accept day students from the age of 11. Boarding is available for A-level students and Year 11 students on GCSE courses who are aged 16 or older.

Students come to us from all over the UK and the world, as well as the local area. There are no bells ringing, no uniforms and everybody is on first name terms. The College has an atmosphere closer to university than school where students are treated as young adults.

About 65 of the College's 280 students are boarders. Our Halls combine the informality of a university residence with the supervision and pastoral support appropriate for young adults.

The College offers students the opportunity to thrive in an atmosphere of managed independence and acts as a stepping stone between school and university.
