Western Reserve Academy offers an exciting and fulfilling academic experience that goes well beyond simply meeting requirements. Here is what parents and students tell us they value about a WRA education.

Challenging curriculum:
Students are encouraged to stretch themselves to take full advantage of all WRA offers, building on academic strengths and bolstering weaknesses. Our hope is that as students accept the challenge of advanced work in areas of strength, they will also "keep in touch" with all major disciplines.

Recent course additions:
Over the last few years, several exciting new classes have been added to our list of course offerings:

- Biotechnology: This is an addition to topics in life science options. A half-credit course for juniors and seniors, this class covers basic methods in biotechnology for the manipulation of nucleic acids. Emphasis is placed on topics concerning techniques used in recombinant DNA technology, including PCR, restriction digests, mapping, cloning, forensics, and bioethics.

- Mandarin Chinese II: With the success of Mandarin Chinese I, the language department has added a level II course.

- AP Art History: This is a cross-cultural survey of art from the dawn of civilization to the present time. Painting, sculpture, architecture and decorative art will be examined with an emphasis not only on the work of art, but on the role of the artist, the audience and the time period in which the work was produced.

Oneida Baptist Institute
Courses / Programs
Oneida Baptist Institute (OBI), located a small rural village in the mountains of Clay County, southeastern Kentucky, is a co-educational Southern Baptist boarding school offering residential programs to students in Grades 6-12.

Oneida is a school that accepts students from all over the US and throughout the world, and introduces them to a different way of life, a Christ-centered life. The school provides rules that teach discipline and promote responsibility.

At Oneida Baptist, students will meet people from across the United States and around the world. They will also experience daily chores and responsibilities, interact with Christian adults, attend daily chapel services, receive individual attention in class and have a chance to join sports or other co-curriculars.

Turning Winds Academic Institute (TWAI)

Located in northwestern Montana, Turning Winds Academic Institute (TWAI) is an accredited, family-run, therapeutic boarding school for troubled teens (boys & girls) ages 13-18.

We welcome students from Pennsylvania, across the United States, & students from around the world (TWAI is authorized to issue 1-20's for international students).

In our beautiful, peaceful, and safe location, we combine the benefits of a therapeutic boarding school, a wilderness program, and a residential treatment center (RTC).

TWAI has been serving struggling teens and their families since 2002, with an exceptional degree of success.

We provide an extremely high standard of therapeutic treatment to our students, and offer help for the following presenting issues: poor academic performance, behavioral problems, addictions, low self-worth, spectrum disorders, ADD/ADHD, and attachment disorders among others.

With a passion for helping young people in crisis, our clinical, educational, and operations staff are among the best in the country.

We are a small program (40 students) which means that we are able to provide a truly unique and customized approach for every student.

Typically our on site student to staff ratio is 5:1. The average stay at our residential treatment center is 12 months.

We create a customized program for each student that requires a minimum of 3 months. However, best results for lasting success are realized through 6+ months of treatment.

TWAI graduates average a 3.5 GPA. It is common for a student to complete 1.5 years of course work in 1 year.
La Lumiere School

La Lumiere School is a co-educational boarding and day college-preparatory high school located in La Porte, Indiana, just a over an hour south of Chicago.

Our aim is to shape the complete student in character, scholarship, and faith. Our curriculum, small classes, and dedicated faculty provide an academic environment with emphasis on the individual learner.

For almost a half-century, La Lumiere School has provided a comprehensive college-preparatory education for qualified young men and women from a rich diversity of backgrounds. Current enrollment is over 200 students.

La Lumiere School is accredited by Independent Schools Association of the Central States (ISACS) and the North Central Association (NCA) and is a member of the Catholic Boarding Schools Association (CBSA), the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), the Midwest Boarding Schools Association (MWBS), and The Association of Boarding Schools (TABS).

Grand River Academy

Situated on a 150-acre campus in Austinburg, north-east Ohio (one hour east of Cleveland, Ohio), Grand River Academy is a college preparatory, all-boys boarding school for students in Grades 9-12 (with a post grad year option).

Andrews Osborne Academy

Andrews Osborne Academy (AOA), located on 300 acres of land in Willoughby (30 minutes from Cleveland), Ohio, is a private, co-educational boarding & day school offering Grades 7-12 (boarding) and Pre-K - Grade 12 (day) programs.
