Westtown School:
Westtown School, located in Chester County (22 miles west of Philadelphia), southeastern Pennsylvania, is a private, Quaker, co-educational, day and boarding school for grades pre-K through 12. Westtown School offers an essential education where young children continually find wonder in learning, middle schoolers turn their volatile energy into academic and personal momentum, and high school students move forward into advanced academic exploration, self-knowledge, and independent purpose. Westtown School was founded in 1799 and for over 200 years has offered young people a rigorous college preparatory education along with the Friends’ values of Simplicity, Peace, Integrity, Community & Equality.
Westtown School is located on 600 acres in southeastern Pennsylvania’s Chester County. We are located today on the same 600 acres purchased by its founders in 1795. An oasis of forest and farmland in the midst of suburban Chester County, the Westtown campus supports both riparian and woodland habitats. Its forests, streams, lake, fields and gardens are sources of study, recreation, and nourishment for both body and spirit of our students.
