Study Abroad Programs for University, College & High School Students:
Torre di Babele offers special Italian courses for groups of high school and university students, and also for company employees. These courses offer not only the study of the Italian language in Italy but also a wide range of cultural activities whic
h takes account of the specific requests and interests of the course participants.Exchange activities with Italian students and visits to Italian schools are also arranged for groups of high school students; the Italian cultural program for university students revolves around their field of study. Torre di Babele also participates in the various exchange programs financed by the European Community.
Italian Language Courses:
Italian courses vary in the number of hours per week and whether they are in group and/or individual lessons. Our Italian courses begin every two weeks and have an average of 7 to 8 persons and a maximum of 12. Lessons are held mornings and afternoons from Monday through Friday.
Two different teachers of Italian conduct the language courses daily, each one teaches two hours at a time and each hour of a lesson lasts 50 minutes. Our Italian courses are offered at all levels (intensive, super-intensive, CILS preparation etc) and participants come from different nationalities which enriches the learning experience by sharing original ideas from each student's background.
Cultural Activities:
Besides the Italian language courses, the following cultural activities are offered on a regular basis:
- Introduction to Rome: the town, its services, and its cultural events.
- Guided tours of Rome: Art history itinerary; Italian architecture itinerary.
- Italian Cinema: Presentation and viewing of films of representative Italian directors
- Italian Literature: The new Italian writers.
- The Regions of Italy: history, culture, traditions, and life today.
- Excursions during the week-end to Naples, Pompeii, Orvieto, Florence and to the seaside

Learn Italian in the heart of Rome, Italy with Koiné - Italian Language Centre! We provide Italian language courses for foreigners, including intensive Italian courses, CELI exam preparation, private Italian lessons and corporate Italian training for professionals / companies. We also offer online Italian classes via Skype.Our teachers are native Italians who hold the DITALS professional qualification awarded by the University for Foreigners of Siena for teachers of Italian as a Foreign Language. They are also members of APIDIS (Italian Teachers for Foreigners Professional Association) with significant teaching experience. Their work is based on passion and love for their own language and culture.
Our Italian lessons are based on dynamic teaching methods and a stimulating language program that incorporates the student’s interests and various aspects of Italian life. We use communicative and humanistic-affective methods of teaching Italian. We also organise tours of Rome and many other social events, so that you are fully immersed in the Italian language and culture.
In addition to our Italian language courses, we provide a DITALS II certification course which trains you to teach Italian as a Second Language and Italian as a Foreign Language. This course is monitored by the University for Foreigners of Siena.
