Postgraduate Programme:
Post-graduate Courses
Due to a high demand in former students and graduates wishing to study at post-graduate level at Hereford College of Arts, we have spent the past few months researching and submitting a proposed Masters programme to the University of Wales, and we are delighted to announce this is now to go through to validation very shortly.

* MA in Fine and Applied Arts:
Course overview:
The MA in Fine and Applied Arts is a studio based programme which seeks to develop students' art practice to a professional standard and is designed to help them establish new parameters of intention and enquiry. This reflective practice takes place through continuous theoretical discourse and advancement of studio practice. This commitment to an intense and focussed examination of personal concerns will be structured by the student and will emerge from the skills and achievement of undergraduate study or a prior substantial engagement in professional practice.

The MA is a distinct and self-contained qualification as well as a learning opportunity to progress to further study or professional practice. The culmination of the MA is demonstrated via a public exhibition and publication of a body of research presented to a professional standard and would normally include evidence of practical studio work, critical evaluations contextualising contemporary and historical practices and evidence of underpinning research strategies.

Prescott & Mackay School of Fashion and Accesory Design
Courses / Programs
Prescott & Mackay offers a unique range of short courses in fashion & accessory design from studios in London, San Francisco, Berkeley, New York and Melbourne. Courses run from beginner to advanced levels, and include shoemaking, bag making, belt making, corsetry, millinery and tutu making. Students can choose between group sessions, and private tuition.

All P&M tutors are among the best in their fields in the world, and many of them are world-renowned designers themselves. The concept for Prescott & Mackay was formulated in 1997 by British founder Melissa Needham, member of the British Footwear Association and Royal Society of the Arts. She recognised a rising passion for shoe and accessory design, yet a distinct lack of provision for those who were unable to attend full time study.

"I haven't had so much fun for ages. The teaching atmosphere was wonderful and I came away having made a pair of shoes I couldn't wait to show off. I couldn't believe I'd made them myself and nor could anyone else!"
