We are a reputable English Language School in UK with students all over the world whom wish to study English in UK. We have totally refurbished our large historic building in the heart of Portsmouth, Hampshire, with new equipment and facilities and fantastic location on the south coast of England, 66 miles south west of London. The academic and support staff have been carefully selected so as to meet the requirements of a busy and forward-thinking school. Staying with a local family can be a valuable part of your language learning experience. They welcome you into their home and give you a comfortable and friendly base during your stay and an opportunity to try out your newly acquired language skills.

All families have been personally chosen by the school and are regularly inspected. Most families live 15 - 20 minutes away from the school. You can choose half-board or full-board accommodation, and a single or shared room. Your host family will wash your clothes and keep your room clean, but do not expect hotel service!

We do our best to choose a suitable family based on the information you give us, but if you do not feel happy, talk to us and if necessary, we will change your family as soon as possible.

We understand that a cultural experience is essential when learning a language. Therefore, we organize a full and diverse social and entertainment programme. Also, we encourage suggestions from students and will arrange popular events.

Here is a small selection of some of the planned events for the forthcoming academic year.

* Restaurant nights - to experience various cuisines (Italian, Chinese, Greek, etc.)

Within walking distance of the school you will find promenades, beautiful parks and commons and an excellent modern shopping and entertainment complex. Alongside these are historical and contemporary museums, which includes the world famous flagship of Admiral Lord Nelson, The Victory and the newest and highest tourist attraction on the south coast, The Spinnaker Tower.

Entertainment
The nightlife throughout the city is lively and diverse, catering to (almost!) all conceivable tastes. The Southsea area in particular provides an excellent programme of entertainment with a funfair, beaches and places of general interest to all the family, such as the Sealife Centre, D-Day Museum and Flower Gardens. Naturally, being a coastal city, there is also a comprehensive range of water sports available to the more active amongst you. Portsmouth itself boasts 2 main theatres, a multi screen cinema complex and more pubs, clubs and restaurants than you could shake a stick at. Portsmouth has plenty of opportunities for Alfresco Dining.

Communications are excellent. Portsmouth has awarded itself the title of The Flagship City in respect of its status as one of our major ports, not only for naval vessels but for passenger and freight shipping too. The city also has excellent air, road and rail services:

• 60 minutes drive to either Gatwick or Heathrow airports
• M3, A3, A31, M5, A27 major road network serves the area
• Direct motorway access to the city on M275
