The Marlow Language Centre, Buckinghamshire:
The Marlow Language Centre is a family run language school and a specialist translation company that has been established in Marlow in Buckinghamshire, southern England for 20 years. We are only 45 minutes west of London. The Centre was founded in 1988 by Jeanne Thibaud-Eeles. We serve students in Maidenhead, Bourne End, Cookham, Reading, Slough, Henley-on-Thames, Beaconsfield, High Wycombe, Bracknell, Windsor, Wokingham, Gerrards Cross, Langley, Colnbrook and Heathrow and throughout the Thames Valley. We offer intensive and non-intensive courses in English and over 50 foreign languages. With us you can learn a language fast! Courses are available to students on both a group basis and 1 to 1 tuition allowing for rapid results. All the 1 to 1 courses are tailor-made so whether students wish to learn for business or pleasure, relocation purposes or simply want to learn for fun, the course is designed to their specific work or pleasure requirements.

GENERAL ENGLISH - NON-INTENSIVE COURSES:
Our Non-Intensive Courses are ideal for those living or working in the UK already, but who would like to improve their English or gain an academic qualification in English. We have a wide range of students, from Business Professionals, to Students, to Au pairs. All levels are welcome!

How does it Work?
1. Our Non-Intensive General English courses run on a 1-to-1 basis or mini group basis, with tuition normally taken once or twice a week, in lessons of 1 or 1.5 hrs.
2. Courses are normally booked in 24 hour slots or on a term by term basis (depending on the type of course), as in our experience this is the minimum amount of time needed to make positive progress. Please see our Structure / Progress page for more information.
3. Tuition is normally taken at the Centre. (In certain circumstances tuition may be taken on your premises)
4. All our courses are tailor-made, and will be designed to meet your specific needs.

We also recommend our students validate their learning by taking an examination, although this is entirely your choice.

GENERAL ENGLISH LANGUAGE - INTENSIVE 1-TO-1 COURSES:
Our intensive total immersion 1-to-1 General English intensive courses are ideal for anyone who wishes to greatly improve their English in a short period of time. All levels are welcome!

How does it work?
At the Marlow Language Centre you will be immersed in English from the moment you arrive until the moment you leave, ensuring you make the best possible progress.

Intensive courses are run in 3 different ways. We have a Super-Intensive, Intensive and Mini-Intensive option:
1. Super-intensive courses run on the basis of 40 hours’ tuition per week (8 hours per day) including a daily lunch with a teacher at various cafes, restaurants and pubs in Marlow, in order to practise your English skills outside of the classroom.
2. Intensive courses are run on the basis of 35 hours’ tuition per week (7 hours per day), excluding lunch with a teacher.
3. Mini-Intensive courses are run on the basis of 20 to 30 hours’ tuition per week (4 to 5 hours per day).

ENGLISH FOR BUSINESS:
We have 20 years of experience in teaching business professionals. Our courses are designed to cater for business professionals from every market sector and every level of corporate life.

We can help you and your company enter new markets and communicate effectively with your English speaking colleagues, with our tailor made courses, designed specifically for you.

Over the last 2 decades we have trained personnel in: Aerospace, Banking, Computing, Education, Electronics, Heavy Industry, The Media, Leisure and Tourism, Nuclear Energy, Telecommunications, Engineering and a range of other professions

Private (1 to 1):
This is the most flexible of all the course options. The advantage of 1 to 1 tuition is that classes can be taken at times to suit you. Classes can also be cancelled and re-scheduled at a later date providing you give us 24 hours' notice. 1 to 1 tuition is the quickest and most effective method of language learning. Your teacher will have 1- 2 hours per lesson to devote to you and only you! This enables the teacher to concentrate on your strengths and weaknesses allowing you to make rapid progress with the language.

Tutorial (2 people):
The tutorial option is perfect for those who want to learn with a partner or friend. This option also offers a good degree of flexibility. Learning together can be really fun and tutorial tuition enables students to interact with one another by participating in role plays and other similar activities. The tutorial option is ideal for those who want a slightly less intense language-learning experience.

Group (3-8 people):
Group tuition does not give the same flexibility as the 1 to 1 and tutorial options as classes will be at fixed times throughout the week, normally once or twice a week. Our group courses normally start in September and January, however we do run some group classes at other times throughout the year. This option is great for students who want to mix with other students of a similar level and due to the small numbers in each group progress is guaranteed.
