Avalon School of English, London:
Avalon School is one of London’s biggest and best private English language schools. Due to student demand, 5 years ago the school extended its range of courses to include excellent Higher Education programmes. Students succeed at Avalon. Based in Leicester Square, London Borough of Westminster in the heart of Central London, Avalon has 15 years experience in knowing what students want and how to achieve their goal. Our aim is to get students speaking. Avalon’s unique direct method gives students enough confidence to go out and communicate in English after their very first week. Each time you leave the classroom your English will be more advanced. How do we do this? It’s simple. Our teachers are trained to listen to your English and improve it. They ask you a question. You answer, and if there are any mistakes in your sentence, they correct you. Each day we teach you some new words or grammar, so you won’t want to miss any lessons. Then we practise those words over the next few days.

First Certificate in English (FCE):
Are you looking for a Cambridge certificate recognised by both employers and higher education institutions? Avalon School is consistently successful in achieving high exam grades for its FCE students. You do not have to take the exam to study the FCE course. The lessons run for two hours every weekday and the recommended length of study is 12 to 14 weeks depending on the student’s level when starting the course.

About the exam:
The FCE exam can be taken in March, June, August or December.

Cambridge Advanced Exam:
Do you require English for professional or study purposes? This course is ideal for making you more accurate and fluent in both speaking and writing. The course also teaches study skills which are essential for higher educational study. The lessons run every weekday for 2 hours a day. The length of study depends on your level when starting the course but 12 to 14 weeks is recommended for advanced level students. For those of a lower level we would recommend first studying FCE.

About the exam:
The exam can be taken in March, June or December.

IELTS:
The IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is for students who intend to study at university in the UK. Performance is assessed on four modules, Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing. For years Avalon has helped hundreds of students achieve high IELTS scores, enabling them to confidently undertake higher education studies in English. The lessons run every weekday for two hours, mornings and afternoons.

About the exam:
The IELTS exam can be taken every month.

Market leader Business English:
You are studying English because you want a good job. Everything is global now, and you need English to succeed. Market Leader is our business course, based on materials from the Pearson Longman group, in association with the Financial Times. Each week you study a different part of the business world (negotiations, sales, etc.) and you learn how to talk and write about it in English. Each week ends with a realistic practice of a business situation.

Avalon offers Market Leader at Intermediate, Upper-Intermediate and Advanced levels. There is no exam, but students receive a certificate at the end of the course.
